Learning Guitar

I had my first leason today. Gonna shred someday. Super cool. Anyone else learning an instrument?

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 03.24.2006 10:20 PM

John Violence 03.24.2006 10:23 PM

Im learning how to play guitar with a wah pedal. It is actually kind of hard to get used to if you have never used one before.

marleypumpkin 03.24.2006 10:27 PM

I'm learning how to play horns, & piano. I've got the guitar thing covered. (guitar, bass) Oh, & the drum thing as well.

guitarpro 03.24.2006 11:50 PM

I play guitar/bass but never took a lesson though

marleypumpkin 03.25.2006 12:38 AM

I only had one lesson in music. It was my father teaching me the basic A,G,C,D,& E chords. After that, I learned everything myself.

Inhuman 03.25.2006 12:40 AM

This is not "sonic gossip". It ought to be in "non-sonic sounds" or "non-sonics".

Unless you're Kim, Thurston, Lee or Steve, that is.

Magublafix 03.25.2006 02:20 AM

Don't learn it do it... hihi

static-harmony 03.25.2006 02:23 AM

I've been learning for 4 years. I now know that I need a new hobby

hey alex 03.25.2006 02:38 AM

Yea, I got a bass a few years ago.... and then a guitar like 2 yrs ago, but but I didn't really try to learn anything until recently. Sor yrs of fucking with tabs and bass and then getting used to a guitar I learned my basic chords and then go from there.

pussygold5000 03.25.2006 03:32 PM

I just bought a guitar last week, can't play for shit and spending a couple of hours a day just trying to get to grips with a basic E chord. How does ANYBODY get even half way decent on this instrument?

nature scene 03.25.2006 03:35 PM

it takes time for your hand muscles to get used to the positions and fingerings. after a while you don't even think about it.

samuel 03.25.2006 03:35 PM

I'm picking the tenor sax back up.
I haven't played in 2 years.

How long did that take for you?

marleypumpkin 03.26.2006 08:01 AM

My muscles are still getting used to it, & I've been playing for 11 years now. Making those power chords for a long stretch of time is never easy.

Trasher02 03.26.2006 08:06 AM

my advice for guitar players who want to learn some songs.
play nirvana songs most likely the easiest songs to play.

marleypumpkin 03.26.2006 08:24 AM

It's true. Those were the first songs I started to use power chords in. But, give Kurt alot of credit, he was one of the best punk lead guitar playeres of all time. He did great little solo's that I could never get the hang of trying to learn it.

Trasher02 03.26.2006 08:32 AM

he makes great riffs too. very easy and yet very powerfull
