I guess that means more forced lofi and over-effected vocals, right? That'll get us out! Repeat late 70's garage rock ad nauseam!

I dont know any bands forcing low fi, just are broke and prefer the sound of tape.

doing interesting things in garage rock is like doing interesting things with Lincoln Logs

nobody gives a shit except for nostalgic assholes mining for a moment of "well that's interesting"

It's a fucking style of music. What a closed minded opinion you have.

Rock n Roll is the most diverse genre of music because it has spawned so many sub-genres. People like the sound of garage rock, that's why it's still around.

So do you think the only people who care about jazz are nostalgiac? blues?

classical music?

Why still create in any genre of music that has been done before?

I look forward to hearing the newest thing, untouched by anything that came before...I wonder what kind of otherwordly sounds will come.

You must be listening to artists who build not with toys for children, but rather out of materials that cannot be found on this planet.

Link me to your favorite band right now, or do you even enjoy music?

it probably costs less to record on a shit laptop than finding a 4-track

*guess what prefer the sound of tape means*

Maybe today's bands are so envious of trailblazing bands 40 years ago that they want to emulate their prophetic, yet obscure technical aesthetic? D stands for desperate.

DeadDiscoDildo 04.19.2011 04:45 PM

broke referring to they arent playing expensive instruments, and tape makes most everything sound live and good.

everyone i know has hand-me-down 4 tracks dude...

even buying some tape and etc and a 4 track and recording yourself is cheaper than recording in a studio or somewhere by the hour where you pay for every snag in recording.

recording on a shitty laptop will still be low fi, except instead of tape saturation u get nasty digital distortion...
