Then her auntie came over
Skinny bitch with no shoulders
Tellin' you that I'm bogus
Bitch you don't even know us
"Baby girl, he's a loner
Baby girl, he's a loner
Late-night organ donor
After that, he disown ya
After that he's just hopeless
Soul mates become soulless
When it's over it's over"
And bitch, I'm back out my coma

It was incredibly difficult to narrow it down to 10 songs.

"This is @kanyewest best album yet...and I was on MBDTF so I could easily say different without being questioned. #GOOD #JustBeingHonest"

btw, sev. Did you ever hear the version of "Diamonds" from Ratatat's Remixes Vol 2? It's amazing.

This is the time that i check out from the Hip Hop Cafe VI and come back later when the Kanye fest as settled down a bit.

The official cover art (seriously..):

louder 02.11.2016 03:21 PM

Hey I actually like it. Looks like an old soul album.

Awesome.

Severian 02.11.2016 06:07 PM

So I totally plugged in and caught the first few songs of the live stream even though I was working furiously on finishing a massive project on time.

15 or 20 minutes in, I was like, "OK, this is fucking dope as hell in every way... I'm satisfied... Gonna save the rest for another time"

So... Yeah. Shit. This album, the Life of Pablo, is DOPE AS HELL in a MBDTF kind of way. Serious.

No, I've never heard it. Not that I know of. Will check it out!

Nicolas Jaar did a remix of "Blood on the Leaves" that's largely "instrumental" but really highlights Kanye's ability to construct an epic piece of music around some basic, fundamental hooks and shapes and sounds. It's like heroin for a Kanye and electronic music junkie like me.

Severian 02.11.2016 07:45 PM

WHY THE FUCK ISN'T ANYONE TALKING ABOUT THE STREAM?

Louder, did you listen in bro?

Why aren't we talking about some of that insane music?

Ok ... bored and waiting so gonna try to rank those albums.

1. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
2. Graduation (when I listen to this, I always listen to the whole thing.)
3. Yeezus
4. Late Regustration (by a hair!)
5. 808's & Heartbreak
6. Watch The Throne
7. Cruel Summer (high points like To The World, The One, New God Flow and Creepers make this one better than #8.)
8. The College Dropout (this is still a phenomenal album. If I listened to 'Ye in 2004 it would have been my favorite hip-hop record... For one year. As good as it is, it's absurd to say it's better than the rest.)

noisereductions 02.11.2016 08:24 PM

our lists are really similar sev.

That's because we're badasses.

(I may know a guy who has a new entry.... if you catch my drift. I am having a hard time deciding if he should listen to it or not...)

I've heard the stream three times now. All I can say is that I'm extremely disappointed. The album had some great moments (in terms of production and maybe flow) but felt like 40% finished. It had no artistic value. The content was terrible.

This is basically a Kanye Kardashian album. Not the Kanye I love. The lines about Taylor and Ray J made me cringe so hard. He should rap about something that matters, give people inspiration and hope.. something to relate to. I'm not here for any of this celebrity gossip drama bullshit.

And now there is this mess: http://pitchfork.com/news/63491-tayl...famous-lyrics/

Like why.. can't Kanye just forget about that incident and keep it pushing? This is so unnecessary. Ugh.

louder 02.12.2016 08:10 AM

I hate to say it, but this album reminds me of Eminem.

And he had the nerve to call it "THE ALBUM OF THE LIFE."

This man is obviously sick, he needs to scrap his album and get treatment.
