nomadicfollower 06.29.2006 01:31 PM

Fuck, munties like hell. A bowl and no lunch'll get'cha. Hah. Anyway, serious hunger....What to eat? FUCK!.

Tokolosh 06.29.2006 01:44 PM

Right now I'm eating Betsy's hot spicy cocktail nuts.

In about 20 mins the doorbell will ring and it'll be the guy from the italian restaurant on the scooter with a portion of pasta penne al pesto, lasagna with 4 types of cheese and napolitana saus, and half a loaf of freshly baked bread.

acousticrock87 06.29.2006 02:03 PM

Pesto penne rocks. I used to make that where I worked. The best pasta ever, though, is farfalle in spicy bell pepper sauce. I don't remember what the sauce is called. I'm so hungry now.

I love the smell of freshly ground pepper.

EMMAh 06.29.2006 04:08 PM

Pesto anything rocks.

Burgers with a side of garlic roasted potato wedges and a fat bowl of weed for dessert.

Hip Priest 06.29.2006 05:11 PM

Supper tonight is a glass of milk, and some pitta bread with salad.

Hip Priest 06.29.2006 05:21 PM

Certainly they do. People who eat supper do, anyway!

acousticrock87 06.29.2006 05:29 PM

Not in America. Only old people and people who watch Little House on the Prairie too much.

Which would be "at all."

nomadicfollower 06.29.2006 05:33 PM

Dinner is lunch. Supper, is well...supper.

Hip Priest 06.29.2006 05:35 PM

No no. It goes like this:

Breakfast
Elevenses
Lunch
Afternoon tea
Tea (light meal) or dinner (serious meal)
Supper

acousticrock87 06.29.2006 05:36 PM

Dinner is steak. Supper is having a bowl of soup because you can't stomach a full dinner.

Hip Priest 06.29.2006 05:38 PM

Supper is what you have before retiring to bed. Anything from a biscuit to a small meal, generally. Almost any kind of salad-based situation makes a splendid supper, I feel. Where cheese is involved, lashings of chutney is ideal.

nomadicfollower 06.29.2006 05:39 PM

So dinner is supper (serious meal) and supper is just a snack?

Hip Priest 06.29.2006 05:42 PM

Dinner is a proper meal, tea is a light one, taken anytime from approximately 5pm - 7pm (the main meal of the day). Supper is partaken of late at night. It may be a snack, a small meal, or anything in between.

I rather sense that cultural differences are at work here.

Soup for supper would be a ghastly faux pas; soup should only be enjoyed for lunch or as a starter at dinner. I'm rather partial to cream of asparagus, personally.

nomadicfollower 06.29.2006 05:44 PM

Yes, so it would seem. I'm only familiar with breakfast, lunch (sometimes dinner), supper, and various other, spastic food orgies anywhere between breakfast and breakfast the next day.

Hip Priest 06.29.2006 05:46 PM

Depends who you are, and where you're from, doesn't it? I've been mocked for using the word 'lunch' instead of 'dinner' by certain types. Tschh - bunch of savages in my town.

acousticrock87 06.29.2006 05:48 PM

In America, officially, we have "breakfast" in the morning, "lunch" around noon, and "dinner" around 5-6 PM. Technically, though, each day is just one big meal.
