yeah, definitely MBV-like. i liked that Free-D lp too but the stuff i've heard since hasn't really impressed me. that 4cd box would be nice to have though.

Free-D was an absolute blast.

I know them and like them but it would be good to know them more.They have one of my favourite names for a band ever.

I once got a couple of cds and a tape of Czech bands Lucie and Orlik from a Slovakian girl, but now I wish I would've gotten one from The Ecstasy of St. Theresa instead... because I didn't really like the other ones.

i had a lot of work:mad: but my friend was there and he said it was fantastic. eost is the best czech group in my opinion. they often play in foreign countries (england etc) so go and see them!:cool:

just how right wing exactly are they? all the lyrics are in czech so i haven't got a clue what they're about.

edit: oh my, this is the singer apparently. i have to say he doesn't look like a nice man.

they used to be really right wing in the early period (xenophobic and anti-minority lyrics overall), but then the singer turned to act in musicals and "arty" projects. An asshole.

oh, ok... the one i was given is this one. it's their second album, so i guess that would be early period.




it's kind of funny that i had this album for about 10 years without knowing the nature of it... also funny considering the girl who gave it to me seemed so very kind... ah well, i guess i'll just have to hide it if i ever have czech/slovakian people visiting again. :D

anyway, i downloaded some more stuff from the ecstacy of st theresa and i'm listening to that now. so thanks for the thread and info.

Speaking of "Susurrate" album, is it possible to purchase it anywhere? A friend of mine lives in Prague and he couldn't find it in various cd-shops. Either he was full of shit or it really is hard to find...!
