Anyone else have the Adam Golebiewski/Thurston Moore DISARM 2LP? Really been enjoying it - takes me back to being 16 and encountering the sets with Tom Surgal and having no vocabulary or context to make sense of what I was hearing. Love Golebiewski's approach to the drum-kit as something to hammer in any way shape or form - takes rhythm out of the equation so he and Thurston stunt around one another just tearing sounds out.

My recording of Thurston Moore and John Russell at London’s Vortex Jazz Cafe is going to get an official release to help raise money for the venue. I’ll post more info as I get it...

At least they're cheaper than that East European seller who's been cranking them out for years now..

Thurston is defending Young Fathers:
Quote:

BDS is a boycott informed by peaceful resistance. When an artist announces he/she is performing in Israel because he/she "loves Israel and the Israeli people" it is an implication that those who've made the decision to not work in Israel as being in opposition of the citizenry as a whole. Such commentary is insulting and nothing could be further from the truth. Our decision to not play Israel is in direct activist resistance to an illegal, criminal occupation by means of deadly force, regardless of who you are. It is a nefarious situation that affects every one of us, every moment. BDS is not "bullying". That is a ridiculous reason to state one's reactionary decision to play a concert in Israel right now. (When my group decided against playing Israel it was with the knowledge of foregoing a considerable financial payday as the exorbitant guarantee offered was significant in supporting the rest of our tour - a consideration I'm sure any band deciding to play there crossing the picket line of the boycott has to deal with.) BDS is working towards peace, hope and resolve. If anything, it is the most pro-Israel concern on the world stage. Join hands. Get with it.
