FASHION.

So I noticed my friend in a very, very cool zipper hoody indeed the other day and demanded him to cough up some more links to good Danish stores and fashion labels. Unfortunately I couldn't find much of interest, and it all cost about 120£ anyway. I followed the links on the Woodwood site, but most things are pretty much plain shirts you'd find anywhere, but made out of something certain by someone's certain company, giving it an OTT price, and like that zipper hoody, I've decided to look for things that are a li'l bit more new and eccentric.
I googled "takeshita dori" (a street in Tokyo I heard of and thought could come up with something) but to no avail, and I've probably lost quite a bit of my time looking at nothing special. Does anyone have any suggestions for what's hawt?

Some fashions never date:

A lot of it depends on what you look like. I have brown hair, so by wearing corduroy beige or light browns, with a red bandana around my neck brings attention to my head. I find designer clothes sickening because of their prices, so I look at Value Village and other thrift stores and usually find something really nice. I found this brown designer dress shirt with pink stripes and a pink interior for $30. You should go to thrift stores and try clothes on and see what you like!

oh, ha ha-- i thought this thread was about this song (well...maybe)

There's a brand new dance
But I don't know its name
That people from bad homes
Do again and again
It's big and it's bland
Full of tension and fear
They do it over there but we don't do it here

(CHORUS)
Fashion! Turn to the left
Fashion! Turn to the right
Oooh, fashion!
We are the goon squad
And we're coming to town
Beep-beep
Beep-beep

Listen to me - don't listen to me
Talk to me - don't talk to me
Dance with me - don't dance with me, no
Beep-beep

There's a brand new talk,
But it's not very clear
That people from good homes
Are talking this year
It's loud and tasteless
And I've heard it before
You shout it while you're dancing
On the whole dance floor
Oh bop, fashion

(CHORUS)

Listen to me - don't listen to me
Talk to me - don't talk to me
Dance with me - don't dance with me, no
Beep-beep
Beep-beep

Oh, bop, do do do do do do do do
Fa-fa-fa-fa-fashion
Oh, bop, do do do do do do do do
Fa-fa-fa-fa-fashion
La-la la la la la la-la

SynthethicalY 04.14.2007 12:33 PM

I just wear whatever. Don't care what everyone is wearing. I don't care if eeryone is wearing it. I don't get this deal that you have to be unique in clothing, for fuck's sake clothes is clothes. But I would not pay that much for clothes either.

Aye. I've just been getting very conscious about sweatshop products. Well, I have brown hair that goes ginger in the sun and very white Viking skin so if that's any help :/
Thank-you.

!@#$%! 04.14.2007 12:42 PM

Yeah I was looking at them last week and considering getting them! They look really nice and I need new shoes. I decided against it becasue I think I'm going to find some plain white shoes of the same form, and do custom designs becasue I would really like to get some freelance work going.

Cardinal Rob 04.14.2007 02:08 PM

Once I've got some good money in I'll be getting those. Ordering off that US site is the cheapest for even us Englanders.

floatingslowly 04.14.2007 02:14 PM

wtf is "vegetarian leather"?

plastic made in a clandestine hippy lab?

or does it mean "we don't eat 'em, but we sure like the skin"?

Cardinal Rob 04.14.2007 02:39 PM

Faux leather / leatherette / the way to the future.

floatingslowly 04.14.2007 03:43 PM

but isn't that made in some factory (defeating the anti-toxic megacorporate attitude)?

I realize that there are some things you just can't get away from, but it made me wonder why they would want to make it part of the ad. surely Dupont is involved. :p

Toilet & Bowels 04.15.2007 09:30 AM

my favourite designers are kenzo, paul smith and dries van noten, maharishi do some beautiful stuff too.

if you want to see amazing pictures of japanese fashion there's a book called fruits that is very much worth looking at, i think it's published by phaidon.

Toilet & Bowels 04.15.2007 09:33 AM

this is the most beautiful t-shirt i've ever seen, the image is embroidered on and it costs £200 ($400 USD)

Cardinal Rob 04.15.2007 11:54 AM

I looked through Fruits about two years ago, and it is pretty bitchin'. Isn't it all home-made clothes? That shirt's fantastic but the price is ever so slightly OTT for me.

jon boy 04.15.2007 04:22 PM

^looks great. i will have half a dozen.

as with a lot of things, my eyes are bigger then my bank account.
