Fuji Rock Festival... who should I check out?

Hi, I'm going to Fuji Rock this year... I'm incredibly excited to say the least, as I hardly ever get to see live music anymore now that I'm in very remote Japan. Could you people with awesome music taste point me in any directions here? I have many bands I like appearing, and I've found some that I'm starting to like, but would like to discover some artists that are a bit under the radar, so I can see some stuff that isn't super crowded. I'll wait to say what appeals to me.

Thanks everyone! Sonic LOVE!

Other than Broken Social Scene, Mad Professor and Jaga Jazzist, the lineup is complete shit.

Anyways, i'm going to Japan in 2 weeks, I think I won't go through Odate though ...

Let's see...

Buffalo Daughter, !!!, Dirty Projectors, Foals, Hikashu, Ken Ishii, Jaga Jazzist, Ogre You Asshole, Super Junky Monkey, Toe, and Zappa Plays Zappa would be my top choices.

Thanks. I'm pretty confident with the American/English bands I want to see, but was hoping for some help with the Japanese bands. I don't know anyone here with even remotely good taste in Japanese music.

You think the lineup is that bad? I feel like I'm going to have a hard time deciding what to see. I guess my perspective has changed being without live music for so long.

What are you doing in Japan, Slavo?

Travelling, basically. I'll travel all the way from South Korea (Seoul) to Busan where I'll take the ferry to Shimonoseki and will take trains northwards through Hiroshima, Osaka and Kyoto to Tokyo.

Cool! I've been here almost a year. Let me know if you have any questions or anything. I've only been to Tokyo and Osaka, but I've found some cool spots.

I can PM you my e-mail address if you'd like. Have fun, man!
