no shock there
they're just another one of those bands who's flavour of the month and then some other shit comes out and the cycle repeats...

hopefully this freak folk shit will die soon

i'm listening to bauhaus, as if that were relevant to anything

Yeah, Crystal Castles aren't very good. There is some weird hype about it -- I mean, I was doing that kind of music 8 years ago... tons of people have been doing it for years, it's not some new or exciting thing. They actually got into trouble for sampling some chip tune artist for a few of their songs haha.

I just downloaded the new Bauhaus album "Go Away White", haven't listened to it yet though.

Both... Haha.

It's not as radical or insane as a person would think, and really it's probably better just to listen to most of the original versions of the songs. It's still a great album though. Lots of guests on it.

I'm listening to chinese democracy. It sucks.

Insanely original. Probably the best Dipset-related album of all time.

i was promised over the top ridiculousness and all i'm getting is xiu xiu lite, like if jamie didn't like john cage and yellow swans and gamelan and black sabbath and listened to banjo music or something.

ok, the ridiculousness just went up.

How is that one? It's one I always meant to pick up.

al shabbray 09.03.2008 01:38 PM

I am only half through right now (just found it today in the mailbox)
but its easily in the top 3 of my hooker/ranaldos, still bouquet is on the top, thats just a perfect ranaldo hooker record.

but I can tell there is pretty much spoken word in envisioning! and really strong outspoken. definately a good one

al shabbray 09.03.2008 01:52 PM

ok update I am through it one time now.
the end got some real cool noise parts!!!
like it pretty much, definately recommended!

Great gatefold LP here. I used to hear this a lot when I was a kid and now I've unearthed it from the attic I'm getting back into the swing of this greek songbird.
