i was listenin to 'the early years' by woody earlier. i think he was really inavative in the realm of folk music. both bob dylan, and beck borrowed his lyrics and stuff. i don't like his voice as much as leadbelly's. but he's a good man

Yeah, Dylan was a huge fan of Woody, and apparently friend when Woody was hospitalised. I had an earlier photo of Woody where on his acoustic is written: "This Machine Kills Fascists". But it didn't read real well in this avatar. He was definitely inavative - I couldn't imagine their to be a folk musician out there who didn't/doesn't respect Woody Guthrie. I also really like Leadbelly, too... and Beck. But I love Dylan, so much I have Dylan ink.

Woah. K.T. Tunstall just played on Leno 10 seconds after I read that, and she had that written on her guitar. That was pretty trippy. Completely confused me for a minute.

HAHA. We don't get much Leno over here, unless it's late at night. So I assure you, it was merely coincidence... and obviously K.T Tunstall's liking for Mr Guthrie.

Yeh they're quite good. Like Wolf Eyes meets screamo hardcore stuff like La Quite/Funeral Diner with loads of intensity. Apparently they have just been totally destroying every audience they play to on this tour. Band they are playing with Battleship are really good as well.
