haahhaa. i haven't screamed for a song at a concert yet. only three of e ive been to. except a kickass local band where we all requested "more songs" when they tried to leave TOO early.

Can you hear the soundcheck at Kool Haus? I've never been there. Hell, I've only been to a few shows in general.

k-krack 08.07.2006 10:45 PM

i have absolutely no clue man.. probably a couple of hours prior to opening, like, maybe 2-3??? but i have no clue, like i said.

k-krack 08.07.2006 10:46 PM

i have been to The Pixies (reunion, obviously) Death From Above 1979, (prebreakup obviously) and Metric (post huge success.)

oh and Sam Roberts and Matt Mays are playing a free concert here on the sixteenth, i gotta go to that!

mushmanski57@hotmail.com 08.07.2006 10:50 PM

Nice! It's one of those OLG shows right? For the casinos? I went to the one in Fort Erie, it was seriously incredible. I was there 2 hours before the show started, and I was front row and centre. Just amazing. SY are top 3 bands for me though (along with Matthew Good (Band) and Radiohead), so this should be even better. Wow, I really fucking hope they play Skip Tracer or Stones.

k-krack 08.07.2006 10:56 PM

yeah, casino. im excited for SY so much.

mushmanski57@hotmail.com 08.07.2006 11:26 PM

Same here :D You going alone, or with friends?

k-krack 08.08.2006 12:13 AM

im going with one friend of mime. you? ""(sorry if you said..i forget)

drrrtyboots 08.08.2006 12:24 AM

What'd you think of metric k-krack?

k-krack 08.08.2006 12:29 AM

it was gooood fun, there was a lot of asshoels (teenage girls) that would not shut the fuck up, after being asked politely over and over, and then asked "shut the hell up!!!!" to no avail) during Islands' set. Holy Fuck totally slayed. Islands was a barrel o' fun! and Metric was just awesome.

k-krack 08.08.2006 12:30 AM

im off now, see you all tomorrow i hope!

What's really cool about reading this thread is that I can remember how excited I used to get about going to see the Sonics....I used to wait outside all hours before hand....I'm now 29 and have seen SY about 10 times....and think that the Warehouse/Koolhaus is one of the most boring places to wait outside. It's goona be a great show...it always is. The Kool Thing (see what I did there) about going to an SY show is that the crowd is anywhere from 13 to mid-50's. I've met them a few times and they're really cool. Have fun tonight!

mushmanski57@hotmail.com 08.08.2006 08:01 AM

Thanks! You going to be there?

The Ever Changing Face 08.08.2006 08:15 AM

are you kidding? For sure!!! There's only one thing I know in life....Every two years SY will be playing at the kool haus, and every two years I'll be there, girlfriends, wives, buddies, bands may come and go but every two years I get to bring someone who's never seen SY before. My concert calendar slims down considerably every year but I still look forward to seeing SY.

mushmanski57@hotmail.com 08.08.2006 08:16 AM

Good stuff! I'm gonna try to be front row, I won't have a friend who's uninterested to drag along, so I don't have anyone else's schedule to go on :)

The Ever Changing Face 08.08.2006 08:23 AM

Yeah my friends come to the shows not really knowing SY all that well, but leave SY fans. I once brought a Metallica fan who wasn't into that "alternative shit", and he now owns every SY album. Take that Lars! I can still remember the day I stopped going into the pits...It was October 24 1995 @ The Warehouse (Kool Haus) and I had been landing pad for a crowd surfer for the last time. I'd have to say that the best SY show I saw was with Stereolab. That and their set in Sao Paolo Brazil.

mushmanski57@hotmail.com 08.08.2006 08:31 AM

Nice. Since I live over in Niagara Falls and am just short of the driving age, I wouldn't be able to get a friend down here anyway. Stay with my aunt and uncle for a few days was the only way to make it work haha.

The Ever Changing Face 08.08.2006 08:41 AM

That's what aunts and uncles are for.

mooger_fooger 08.08.2006 10:20 AM

Yeah, my uncle's pad was where I crashed for my first Sonic Youth show, then the 2nd show, my whole band slept in a 'cardboard-box mansion' we built outside of Ryerson University (What kind of train system stops at 1:15?? Damn GO transit thats who..) It was a real expereience tho.....LOL

EMMAh 08.08.2006 10:27 AM

I'd like to go to Toronto but it's not happening.
