Fütter Mein Ego

Probably Einstuerzende Neubauten's best known song, but it's getting on for twenty years old now, and they've produced tons of brilliant stuff since then.

May I suggest that people go out to their local record shops and buy at least one of the following:

Strategies Against Architecture 3 1991-2001
Perpetuum Mobile
Berlin Babylon: Original Soundtrack
9/15/2000 Brussels

You won't regret it.

I'm trying to think who did a cover of Futter Mein Ego.

I'm thinking it was a very unlikely band, but I can't think who.

I need to replace my EN on CD, all mine was on vinyl.

Definitely Kollaps for me, their first and the first I bought. It was like nothing I'd ever heard.

Their more recent stuff has lost me a bit mind.

But not as good as Einstuerzende Neubauten. :)

It's good to see you've come back, Sun City Girl.

sun city girl 09.08.2006 03:54 AM

once again, nothing to do at work... oh wait, it's lunch time...

neubauten are good but pussy galore, right now! (the album) is better than anything i've heard from neubauten... but that's just my humble opinion.

sonicl 09.08.2006 04:16 AM

We'll agree to differ, yeah?

sun city girl 09.08.2006 04:22 AM

yeah (back from lunch).

porkmarras 09.08.2006 04:24 AM

Is there a recording of the infamous ICA gig?

sonicl 09.08.2006 04:31 AM

They always contest the truth of that story. They claim that it was Stevo that said that they were trying to drill down to the "secret tunnels", as one of his publicity stunts, but that the truth was that they were just being generally destructive.

I've never heard of any recording of it.

porkmarras 09.08.2006 04:52 AM

I thought that it was a bit of a myth myself, especially because at that time they had the habit of destroying venues anyway. It just makes for an interesting myth. Why,uncle Joe,aren't Einstuerzende Neubauten more popular amongst bricklayers?

Pookie 09.08.2006 08:00 AM

When working in a record shop, I played Kollaps whilst there was building work going on outside. Confused the hell out of the customers.

Glice 09.08.2006 08:15 AM

Einsturzende Neubauten. In all honesty, there is not a better, or more appropriate name for a band in the history of Rock and/ or Roll. With the exception of Dolly Parton, obviously.

I don't know, Porky, why aren't Einstuerzende Neubauten more popular amongst bricklayers?

sonicl are you a member of their pay website?

I've thought about joining, but I don't know...

sonicl 09.09.2006 12:41 AM

I am, yes, and, if you like the more recent EN stuff, it's well worth joining. I haven't been able to participate fully, as I don't have a broadband connection, but the CDs from the first two rounds have both been excellent.

If you do decide to join, be sure to order the Supporters Bootleg Project CD when you sign up. It's a 2 CD compilation of bootleg recordings covering the band's whole history and is great.

Пятхъдесят Шест 09.09.2006 12:58 AM

I've wanted to join for some time now.

You've made it seem a lot more appealing.

sonicl 09.09.2006 01:08 AM

PM on it's way to you, Пятхъдесят Шест

Пятхъдесят Шест 09.09.2006 01:10 AM

Да. Sonicl, you are a very good friend!
