The Best thing about the Youth

...Is that there not in the 90's anymore.Aside from washing Machine and a few select songs I really Can't get into anything of theirs from that decade.

mil_pl 06.15.2010 10:33 AM

...is that they are so super sonic.

chicka 06.15.2010 01:28 PM

they still make great music and they still tour.

Toilet & Bowels 06.15.2010 01:53 PM

the best thing about sonic youth is their 80s output

verme (prevaricator) 06.15.2010 02:17 PM

that they've created stuff that after all these years still feels relevant and genuine?

jnic 06.22.2010 11:31 AM

They are still throwing down live!
Thank Buddah!

What is so impressive about this band is their inclusiveness, they way they've played with so many varying people and artists- as big as they are they still enjoy other people's works and enjoy saying so. They're old guys like me but they have the joi d'vivre of youth. Sometimes, in the case of Courtney Hole, it doesn't work out.

and Death Valley 69

agreed. I think the best thing about sonic youth was the Sonic Nurse tour, it was the culmination of decades of improvising meets structure, of the merging moment of chaos and harmony, it was pure bliss. I also enjoyed Rather Ripped era much more than this last Eternal which is cool but missing something.

but truly I think Jim was the missing link, he should come back, wtf has he done on his own? nothing. wasting opportunities like Nigeria in the Cup!!

atsonicpark 06.22.2010 04:06 PM

...Silver Sessions.

EVOLghost 06.22.2010 07:24 PM

They evolutionize and still kick ass.

SYHamilton 06.22.2010 10:02 PM

They've toured and recorded for 30 years without getting old

Satan 06.22.2010 10:12 PM

is that during a nap today i dreamed i was at a party at thurston's house and he had a cool van and gave me a guitar.

Count Mecha 06.23.2010 01:51 AM

Probably not the best thing about them, but I greatly admire that the lineup has been roughly the same for 25 or so years. Sure Jim joined for a while and Mark's with them now. But it's been that core four for a solid while. I think that's pretty cool.

The Best thing about the Youth......is that they still exist! for that we should be grateful......also silversessions

why the fuck cant i unbold the type and why was it bolded in the first place??? bolded..is that a word?

the ikara cult 06.23.2010 02:05 PM

is that i havent listened to anything by them for about a year and a half, and when i do again, it will be just as special as the first few times

Murmer99 06.23.2010 02:07 PM

i actually like the albums they released in the 90's, and ironically enough...the only i disliked was washing machine. anyways, there are too many things i like about youth and i can't pick a best thing about the band. but like someone already mentioned it is a great thing they still exist.

barry swedgin 06.24.2010 09:15 AM

Are you insane? It's their 90s output I've enjoyed the most.
