^ This really is one of the most quotable albums ever:

"For the record, this is some shit I just thought of y'all, science fiction that's not admissable in no court of law."

"I only play the games that I win at, and stay the same with more rhymes than there's ways to skin cats."

I always thought that I WISH sounded like a demo tape. I don't think Del really found his (poetic) voice until NO NEED.

If someone put a gun to my head and said pick the best hip-hop record ever recorded, it would be on a coin flip whether I picked this or Illmatic. There are very few album that continue to reveal as much joy to me on each listen even after I've heard them a stupid number of times.

The sick thing about this album is -- give it YEARS and it will still only get better and reveal more. To use a dumb analogy, this is sort of the SGT PEPPER of hip hop.

I would have gone with the VU and Nico (which I guess would make Take Me To Your Leader the White Light/White Heat, VVVVI the The Velvet Underground and Madvillainy the Loaded) of Hip-hop, but same deal. To be honest I don't even know what I'm saying anymore. This is really dumb haha.

A really nice little record, if a bit nondescript. Basically it's Oren Ambarchi and this other guy doing a dreamy tribute to old pop music. Doesn't sound far of what you would expect Oren Ambarchi covering the Beach Boys would be like. Sadly, the songs obviously aren't up to that level, so it ends up just being a lovely background record, but that's no crime.
