Had a chance to buy Tied to a Star the other day, but couldn't bring myself to buy it when there were brand new wrapped copies of Highway 61 Revisited and Murmer, both albums I've owned and lost, for 4.99 each. And I still had enough for a Snoop Greatest Hits comp before I spent what Barnes & Noble was asking for the Mascis record.

Who could possibly fault me?

That's such a goddamn beautiful album. I know it's thought of as kind of an overrated record by hardcore dead fans, but I grew up with it. None of the live versions quite measure up to the album cut of "Box of Rain" or "Friend of the Devil" for me.

Just as really great album. I'll always see it as their masterpiece.

Yo louder you were right!! LP1 by FKA Twigs is fucking incredible!

I'm not totally into her lyrics yet, but the album has some seriously bangin' production. I'm really diggin it.

some Joy Division live Bootleg. why? do i have to be constantly reminded what a ferocious live band they were. killer tight poppin snare drumming and i could play Bernard's simple guitar parts on guitar all day loudly.

CCR---Willie and the Poor boys. again, great and my fav drum sound and pretty much been drumming to it for years. i need some CCR once in awhile.

This might be the best black metal I've ever heard. Only listened once though, and honestly, I know *very* little about the genre... But this shit blew my mind.

And before that I was on this shit: Stones Throw presents CHROME
CHILDREN (2 discs)... Glorious.

why isn't anyone listening to the new Shellac LP????
There isn't even a thread for it..
Dude...incredible.

Being an uberfan, i'm more than glad to see they've decided to go back to basics and it's a really tight LP. The guitar tone has changed considerably (it's a lot fuller in the mids/lows) and there is a lot less room sound/ natural reverb on the drums which is kind of shame though as it sounds "processed to be as quiet as possible (the drums live sound). But very efficient stuff.

There's one reason why you're not hearing about it from me:
I didn't know there was a new Shellac LP out.

Let me get back to you later in the day :)

Any thoughts? It seems to be a pretty unanimous SYG favorite at the moment. I'm fooling myself by not just buying the fucker, aren't I?

What is this?

A band that sounds so much like SY, they decided to not try and hide it?

A tribute?

An insult?

A game called "Name That SY Riff?"

Great song, beautiful reading. As for Bruce's performances of it, I actually prefer a pre-River live take from July 7, 1978, in which he stuck it in the middle of "Backstreets".
