I haven't had a girlfriend in 5 years, & she dumped me for my so-called best friend. & I've tried really hard to meet women, but they just keep rejecting me. Man, I know how you feel. My ex started dating one of my friends after we broke up. They are married now and he lost my friendship and the friendship of several other people. For being a douchebag.

This all happened, coincedentally, in Nashville, TN.

I 'm in a similar situation, but it's not that much of a problem for me. I'm quite a loner and I've been used to it for while. I have gone tried to socialise with other people, but serioulsy British ppl suck horribly - boring and stupid, even the so called hipster and indie chicks are no better than your average pill-popping club slut. But, seriously most relationships at this age (I'm presuming you're in your early twenties) are not that serious anyway and most people definetely can't even fathom an idea of serious commitment. I say concentrate on whatever it is you're doing - music, school, religion, etc. and get back into the 'social world' a couple of years later when everyone is not an egotistical shallow retards.

marley if you were around earlyer you should have known the might suicide thread we had there on the old BBS. what i want to say is declaring suicidal intentions on the SY board is not cool at all.

It was never about sex. I even told her that I would wait as long as she wanted before having sex. I really did love this girl. We went out for a year & a half. & before the first time we had sex, it had already been several months before she told me she wanted to. I just really, really, really miss it, that's all.

Damn, that's not cool. I showed my GF Corporate Ghost and she shut it off and wanted to watch something else; I was terribly embarrased for her behavior in front of my friends who like SY.

The first week or so after not having a girlfriend is tough. (Well, maybe since your relationship lasted awhile it will take longer) But there is a point at which the lull ends, and you enjoy your freedom and singleness. This is a great phase in life that you need to learn to enjoy. You also need to be careful not to make it last too long.
