Sleater-Kinney change Thurston reference at show
 

Sleater-Kinney played in Manchester, UK on Tuesday night. They played early cut ‘I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone’ about two thirds of the way through, and Carrie dedicated the song to Kim Gordon. Corinne’s line on the second chorus, which is ‘I wanna be yr Thurston Moore’ was changed to something else – obviously in solidarity with Kimlet.

Did anyone at this show catch the name? Maybe they’ve been doing it for their US shows too.. I’m not sure. Made me smirk, though!

i love the band but actually don't like the new record. great guitar, love that buzzing sound, but i don't like the way the sing all together now-- super-annoying. i miss corin belting it out mightily with the others as backup but not equals.

i'm still going to try to watch them live, because live they're incredible. maybe i should look for some live recordings of the new tour first. hmmm...

and i like all of their previous records except for the first one really-- the first one is okay but not really good-- it ponts in good directions though. this last one however bothers me in the ear.

so yes, i don't like the new record. i'd remove the vocals track & make it all guitar/drums. which are fantastic.

i support the stalinist erasure of thruston though.
