It had a parental advisory label on it... plus it was 6 bucks so even if so it wasn't too big a loss.

It looked ok I guess. I mean its galveston so its never gonna look that great, but yeah it was deffinitley better. Still a lot of trash lying around and unrepaired buildings, but its deffinitley on the way back up.
I'd say it'll be more or less good to go by summer, if not spring break.

Gate - The Lavender Head 2xLP. I cannot express how excited I am about this, nor how terrified I am that it will get lost in the mail en route to me.

Haha!
Did you buy that for $45 on eBay by any chance? Then you outbid me in the last seconds... congratulations! :D
There was a private press of it (editon of 20!) going for $110 a couple of days later.

I hope it pops up on eGay again soon or, even better, gets re-issued someday.

... pretends not to have seen this post...

Actually, you don't know just how close you were to winning it. I had set myself a maximum of $44, and when I got outbid on that it was sheer pissed-off-ness that made me bid an extra $1. :)

pokkeherrie 03.04.2009 03:03 PM

Ha, I know EXACTLY how close I was to winning it, mister! I was CTRL+F5-ing every 3-4 seconds in the final minute. :)

Before I bid it was somewhere around $22 and I just entered double that amount, knowing that other people would probably bid on it too and hoping it wouldn't go that high. It got to $24 with my bid, then 30 seconds later I saw my bid was raised to the maximum ($44), so somebody else had bid either $43 or $44. There were about 15 seconds left to bid again, but in a brief moment of rationality I decided that $44 (plus w/ shipping from Canada would probably end up at around $60) was more than I was willing to spend on this... so I'm actually glad you made that final bid, even though it's a record I'd really like to have. I hope you'll enjoy it a lot.

Maybe it won't show up again for months and I'll regret this in the future, but a quick look in my paypal account learns me that I've spent several hundreds of euros on music/books/DVDs just in the past few weeks.:(

Maybe subconsciously this played a role too. I've been waiting for Der TPK LP to arrive from Siltbreeze for the past 5 weeks now...

Haha well I do live in a city with a pretty big hip hop scene with good mixtape distribution so I'm sure that helps. Actually at best buy you'll usually just find these sort of things by just browsing haphazardly.

But yeah, Mclaughlin is easily one of my favorite guitar players. You really haven't heard Bitches Brew yet? (he was on that heavily and you said this is the first time you've ever heard the guy)

noisereductions 03.05.2009 07:06 PM

Of course I've heard Bitches Brew (a million times). I meant, I hadn't heard him, like his own project before. It was worded weird.
