not A church

THE church!

:)

greenlight 09.29.2017 12:43 AM

are we going to rent a bicycle to get around easily and get full local experience :-), or are the venues within walking distance?

Moshe 09.29.2017 02:37 AM

most of the venues are within a walking distance.

_tunic_ 10.04.2017 12:01 PM

time schedule is now here
and just as I thought: it's overlap galore which is the main reason I don't go to these festivals. Take the first day:
Sun Kil Moon playing at the same time as Keiji Haino and also Oiseaux Tempete and also Jerusalem In My Heart

cheers for the link.

bollocks.

Grouper/Paul Clipson crashing with Thurston Moore/Han Bennink and one of them is happening in completly different venue then within Tivolli complex.

Prurient with GAS, same story with venues.

bollocks.

Sun Kil Moon vs Jerusalem in my Heart would be a tough choice

Yes, best to stay at home and see nothing at all than be faced with the anxiety of a tough decision.

HAHA! yeah I know it sounds stupid, but there's more to it, like acts play only a short set at these festivals. And also my ears are no longer able to cope with a night or even a full day of loud music unfortunately

So what I do is try to see them while they are not playing this festival. For instance I'm heavily considering to see Jerusalem & Oiseaux Tempete when they play in Brussels a couple days later

Toilet & Bowels 10.07.2017 11:53 AM

I can understand that. Festivals can be costly and that money is often better spent on gig tickets.

whorefrost 10.07.2017 03:24 PM

Fucking strong line-up. It looks as if I'll probably be going to this.

I don't know almost any of these.
I was 80$ sure that I'd go this year, but now I'm not so sure anymore.

_tunic_ 05.25.2018 01:44 PM

see the last line ;)
But indeed the line-up so far appears to be less impressive than last year.

FACS is 3/4 of Disappears (minus the bass player), and their new album is pretty good. Wouldn't mind at all seeing them live. But for the rest I don't really care so much, besides Breeders and Lydia Lunch.

According to https://www.allmusic.com/album/negat...s-mw0003149342, they're now 2/4 of Disappears. So I guess they added another guy to keep it a trio or summat.

_slavo_ 06.04.2018 10:20 AM

hey,
can anyone recommend some good festivals at autumn/late summer time, situated in Europe, besides Le Guess Who and Sonic City?
me (+my wife) and greenlight would wanna go somewhere, tho I'm not so sure about LGW this year...

_tunic_ 06.04.2018 10:42 AM

there's a festival in my hometown on 24/25 August: http://www.effenaar.nl/agenda/9089/f...oven-2018-2/en

At the end of June there's this festival: https://downtherabbithole.nl/
Also in June: https://www.pinkpop.nl/2018/nl/programma/
there's also Lowlands in August, but they say on their site that it's already sold out

And in Hasselt, Belgium in August: https://www.pukkelpop.be/nl/line-up/abc/
also in Belgium, but in July: https://www.rockwerchter.be/nl/line-up

if you want it doom and autumn, there's Desertfest in Antwerpen: http://www.desertfest.be/line-up

there used to be also the Incubate festival in Tilburg, which I would have highly recommended. Unfortunately it has been cancelled because they had a major budget cut problems. That's too bad, didn't know about it until now when I googled about the lineup for this year ...
