I mainly listen to electronic music... I've been listening to Plastikman all night. I'm kinda over hypno coin pop, fweak fwolk, etc. Even EAI and classical fails to thrill me anymore.

the RHCP should be divided, a la the Misfits, into two periods.

Their first 5 records are some of the most energetic, pumped, amped party music you could hope for, and much of it flat out RULES.

everything after bloodsugarsexmagic was calculated to aim at the adult contempo crowd. ballads and pathetic arena style rockers. HORRIBLE SHIT

(of course the misfits should be split between Danzig era and the pathetic joke they call the misfits now.)

I always thought bloodsugar was a really impressive album. Particularly John's solos, each of them seems to have a theme and a clever idea behind it.

One Hot Minute has its moments...sometimes it sounds like a Chili Peppers/Jane's Addiction hybrid, which sounds better than you might think.

Placebo - Slave to the Wage

Mainly because "Slave" looks very similar to "Slavo", but still.

MAN! ALLERGIC TO THOUGHTS OF MOTHER EARTH is such a cool song. Harmonics!

I still have a soft-spot for a number of Placebo songs. Massively frustrating band, they've got a great way with a melody but an increasingly awful sense of lyrics.

Swallow is the best Placebo song.

er... the von bondies (blech) have a song that's the theme for "rescue me". i don't know the name. oh wait it's "c'mon c'mon".

i've come to like it... especially the drums. i think it's mostly by pavlovian association with the show, which i really like.
