I don't mean to go on about it, but: Because The Night???!!!
For that song alone that album should be filed alongside Phil Collins in the atrocious record shop in the sky (I lost the plot towards the end of that sentence. I don't know if it showed). |
Violent Femmes- The Blind Leading the Naked.

Because the night was made for lovers, because the night was made for love...
I don't know, dude. It's just okay. A little pitchy here and there, but you know, overall, it's strong, real catchy. It works. |
Wasn't that song co-written with Bruce Springsteen, and didn't she appear on a Blue Oyster Cult record?
Sorry, but the evidence for the prosecution is stacking up.:( |

Yes, what a great record. Even better thought-out arrangements than on the last one. Although I think it lacks some catchy hooks.

sixousie and the banshees-juju
i am happy to say that finally, after years of not getting this band's appeal, i know understand why this ablum is loved. ive had it for a while but listened to it three times and wrote it off, however, last night i threw it on the record spinner, and realized, HOLY FUCKIN SHIT, this is some of the best guitar based post punk ever, how could i have been so blind for so long? the guitar melodies are incredible, all swirly and haunting. the bass is present, and actually adds to the guitars appeal. the percussion and bass rank up there with a lotta the post punk greats, joy division, pil and such. and siouxie has a beautiful voice, arguably the most beautiful voice in all of postpunk or punk period. does anyone know which banshees ablum i should go for next, now that i have been enlightened? |

Yes, and the live album with Robert Smith Nocturne is great too. EDIT: I forgot that you didn't like The Cure :D Anyway Smith's playing is a bit different with Siouxsie, it's noisier and not far from McGeogh's. |
