melancholy

one of those days you catch yourself with your foot in your mouth and your heart on your sleeve..

Went around the way for you
Did all the things you asked me to
I thought it was the perfect day
till she just opened to say..

It doesn't mean a thing to me
It doesn't mean a thing to me
And it's about time you see
Things ain't like they used to be

I headed out to Lester Hill
But that just made me weaker still
She's got the kind of love I need
The kind that's never good on me

It doesn't mean a thing to me
It doesn't mean a thing to me
And it's about time you see
That things ain't like they used to be

Walked into the battle blind
It happens almost all the time
The yard is kinda overgrown
And all those happy times are gone

But it doesn't mean a thing to me
It doesn't mean a thing to me
And it's about time you see
That things ain't like they used to be

I like when I'm in a melancholy mood. I feel so badass for some reason.

Toilet & Bowels 03.23.2009 05:51 AM

melancholy was once considered a disease

ZEROpumpkins 03.23.2009 06:11 AM

Is that true?

Toilet & Bowels 03.23.2009 06:33 AM

ZEROpumpkins 03.23.2009 06:34 AM

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 03.23.2009 12:41 PM

That there
Thats not me
I go
Where I please
I walk through walls
I float down the liffey
Im not here
This isnt happening
Im not here
Im not here

In a little while
Ill be gone
The moments already passed
Yeah its gone
And Im not here
This isnt happening
Im not here
Im not here

Strobe lights and blown speakers
Fireworks and hurricanes
Im not here
This isnt happening
Im not here
Im not here

That's because it was used as the name for depression. The meaning of the word has changed, that's all.

yes, my black bile must be in disproportionate levels.. Hippocrates was right..

"Melancholic is the personality of an individual characterized by black bile (hence Greek μέλας, melas, "black", + χολή, kholé, "bile"); a person who is a thoughtful ponderer has a melancholic disposition. Often very kind and considerate, melancholics can be highly creative – as in poetry and art - but also can become overly pre-occupied with the tragedy and cruelty in the world, thus becoming depressed."

agreed. unfortunately thats not how it works sometimes, emotions and mood can be rather impetuous, even capricious!

I was talking about melancholy as illness not as humour or melancholic personality type.

Then the mood you're in probably isn't all that melancholic.

Badass probably wasn't the most correct term, but when I'm feeling down I feel like I can use it for something, like I'll start producing music and shit. The result of that makes me feel badass ;)

Kloriel 03.23.2009 10:25 PM

Yea, it is like sifting for copper in oranguatang orangtuanang orangatang whatever fuck spelling and fuck author's that steal ideas from the brains of sleeping genius'

demonrail666 03.23.2009 10:37 PM

The problem with melancholia/depression, whatever people want to call it, is that it has vague romantic associations, like someone suffering with it is going to write some profound poem, when the more likely response is going to be a day spent staring blankly at a crack in the ceiling.
