That frame is pretty cool. How old is it?

you know, i forgot to ask. i should've. it looks pretty old and it was the most expensive out the ones i was showed at the bike shop, so maybe it is a little old.

Anyone who rides a road bike has my deepest admiration. I had a really nice one for a while, but I was terrified whenever I went out on it. It was just so light, and it felt like the slightest gust of wind could have blown me anywhere.

Mind you, England's roads are so busy and so badly maintained that they're just not good for a road bike anyway.

Savage Clone 03.08.2008 08:48 AM

I know the New Bike feeling. I wish I could experience it more often.
Congrats. This is what I'm riding these days; the frame is a late 1970s Japanese touring style, customized to my preferences. I took these pics when it was still warm out. Right now it needs a good cleaning to get all the road salt/grit of the past few days off of it. Winter biking is pretty messy sometimes.

i just rode my new bike today and the wind was blowing so much that i could only ride for about 20 minutes without feeling exhausted.

Savage Clone 03.08.2008 02:58 PM

Wind is my mortal enemy half the time, and my good friend when it's going the other way. I put on between 20-40 miles a day generally.
My bike cost $125, but I got it from one of those "works out of a garage" kind of guys. It should probably have cost around $350 or so. Eventually I'll have some really nice rims on there, but one step at a time. I love it more than any other vehicle (motorized or unmotorized) that I have ever owned. I like that you don't have to spend a ton of money to have a very fast, unique bike. You can always keep upgrading parts. The French frames are sweet, but the disadvantage is that they have French threading and the parts can be a little harder to get a hold of sometimes.
I love the lugs on yours. Very cool.

Mrs. Butcher 03.08.2008 03:14 PM

this was my bike (at least the frame was the same anyway) until my complete lack of maintance lead the seat post to get seized in the seat-tube, and my attempts to cut in out going array.

uhler 03.08.2008 04:07 PM
