Most Annoying Vocals in a Cover Song

trance feeeedback 05.09.2006 04:03 PM

"Are you kidding? these are nothing compared to..." this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdTOUnCZ41s ,but these girls are really cute!

PunkerViolence 05.09.2006 04:34 PM

Hey, show me the way is klass!! I dunno why it wasnt on the reissue.

nomadicfollower 05.09.2006 04:37 PM

Anything Billy Corgan sings is annoying.

Hip Priest 05.09.2006 04:38 PM

Before I vote, I need to know if Radiohead have ever done a cover version. With that man 'singing'.

Any help appreciated.

I love the pumpkins, shut up.

Altho...billy does sometimes hurt...

Everyneurotic 05.09.2006 04:42 PM

ohhh, i might clear some air here:

i love all three bands and actually tolerate their voices, but on this three covers, each of the vocalists in question really go off!!!

most people can't stand at least one of the vocalists in question, so i was curious.

DJ Rick 05.09.2006 04:48 PM

I can't decide on any of these mentioned in the poll...I haven't heard any of them.

But here's one cover that's really ingenius for how purposely annoying it is...

Pavement's "Cut Your Hair" redone by the Zip Code Rapists

They did Union City Blue and nobody does it better (no, seriously). Uber-rare, I have them on tape from a super-obsessive girl whose fanzine I wrote for about 12 years ago. I've not seen them pop up on the internet yet, and I've no idea how you would get them, but I can assure you they definitely exist.

Pablitzen 05.09.2006 05:22 PM

this is a band from my country...the lead singer is a James Hetfield wanna-be

Seriously, though, I really quite like their music, but that man's vocals make them unlistenable to me.

The choppy cover of Cannibal Corpse's "Hammer Smashed Face" by Especially Likely Sloth is a good one, too, for its ultra-braincell-devastation and the bizarre vocal performance which sounds like a little girl trying to avoid drowning.

RockerNino 05.09.2006 06:28 PM

radiohead did a small live cover of Oasis' Wonderwall.

Inhuman 05.09.2006 07:13 PM

I believe Fall Out Boy or one of them bands did a cover of a Joy Division song.

Flaming Lips - Unmade Bed

Makes me cringe when I think of how bad wayne Coyne sounded on it.....at least I can give them a c+ for choosing a SY song.

I heard Moby doing New Dawn Fades on some TV bollocks a couple of years ago. His vocals on that were high up in the contenders for this thread.

Trasher02 05.10.2006 07:17 AM

how about anything by brian molko.

What, like Placebos cover of 'where is my mind' by the Pixies? That'll probably do it for you.
