You like the Beasties then?
I'm not sure I'd want to see them these days. I saw them on the Ill Communication tour and they were great, but I think their music isn't so strong now and I'm not sure they'd put on such a good show. I hope for your sake that I'm wrong though. |
omgz beatzieboies4eva <3 :o
I have a borderline unhealthy fixation with the Beastie Boys. I just love 'em and I don't know exactly why. They've definately grown and changed over the years and they continue to. But yeah, I've seen them live more than I'd care to admit and I will continue to catch every show of theirs I can. I'm pretty excited they're visiting California. They're back to playin some of their hardcore songs live which has me all sorts of happy... So yeah, anyhoo.... I'll just stop right thurr. |
Is LA home for the Beasties these days, or NY?
|
Oh NY, but they've been touring like mo-fo's these days. Thank god for me! I dunno if you know but they just released an instrumental funk/jam album. Ya may wanna check it. Hearing the new songs live mixed with the hardcore stuff is so amazing.
|
Yeah, I keep meaning to check that out. I'll get around to it some time...
|
un healthy obsessions are what makes the world go round. at least thats what i keep telling myself.

Arctic Monkeys Manchester
Reading Festival Police Rolling Stones Prince Scissor Sisters Keane OMD Joss Stone Unfortunately all work |
I'd say fortunately all work. If you were going to all those voluntarily, I'd be questioning what you were doing on this message board.
|
Whichever work that is, it could be fun being to those shows.
|
All i've got booked till the end of the year at the moment are Dead Meadow, Sonic Youth and Bloc Party...
|
Quote:
Unfortunately all work because I have to be at them, I could have lowered the tone even further and mentioned Ms Streisand too The smaller stages at Reading arent too bad |
Quote:
I'm going to see Dead Meadow and Sonic Youth too, where are you going to see Dead Meadow? Manchester? |
Acid Mothers Temple
Jesu Sun o))) and a bunch of other dutch noise bands on the StateX festival in december |
Jesu
|
shonen knife on the 24th. that is it, somewhat sadly.
|
there's fuck all happening this month, but i'm really looking forward to acid mothers temple and circle and might even go see both twice.
maybe i'll check out ktl next week, but i haven't really listened yet to how different they are to sunno))), burial chamber trio, etc... really had enough of those for a while. |
Quote:
hahahha really? |
well, i love shonen knife (seen them once before, fantastic show)...but
DC/Baltimore is lacking on performances i want to see. the black cat in particular, jesus. that place is struggling. |
I'd like to see Shonen Knife sometime, but they never seem to be touring outside Japan and USA for some reason.
|
Dino Jr on the 29th
|
was going to jackie o'mother fucker but it got cancelled.
others are, thurston, sunn o)), earth, bors, ashtray navigations and someone else. |
Quote:
I would go. When i saw them they were probably twice as loud as sunn 0))) and thrice as good and four times more intense (was that a correct english sentence? I really need to sleep!). Highly recommended. The only thing I'm looking forward to is Qui, maybe The Skyrider Band and Fluid. |
heh, but were they much similar in what they do? because i've seen the other two now 5 times altogether and although i loved it the first couple of times, especially the last time i got reeeaally bored with sunn.
sentence looks correct to me. |
well, a guy i know got really bored by sunn o))) because, like in you're case, he's seen them a few times before.
Same guy came to me after KTL played (the day after the sunn gig) with tears in his eyes and said: "That was the most beautiful thing i have ever seen and the most beautiful thing i ever will see". He's straight edge, btw. I thought they were quite different and KTL definately were way better. |
haha... ok, well in that case, i might just go because i hate the feeling of having regret afterwards much more than that of a boring gig. thanks. :D
|
but don't blame me if you're disappointed afterwards
|
don't worry, i'll blame it on my personality.
