Oliver Stone's The Doors is on VH1 again. Get off your computers, turn off your CD players, and turn on to your TV, babies.

steve newman 05.22.2008 11:13 PM

the stooges - s/t

Cantankerous 05.22.2008 11:15 PM

"birthday" (by the sugarcubes) is like my favourite song. well by them at least.
yay sugarcubes!

- don't have a cd player
- not a fan of that movie though whatsisface looks quite like Mr. Mojo Risin' in that movie

Sonic Youth 37 05.22.2008 11:18 PM

Val Kilmer did look a lot like Jim. The movie is OK at the very best, but sometimes I just have to watch it for the memories.

listening:
"Just Like Heaven" - Dino Jr
I'd just like to point at that this song would be a million times better without the shouting.

gmku 05.22.2008 11:20 PM

My favorite part's the Warhol/VU scene in the factory.

Cantankerous 05.22.2008 11:27 PM

speaking of warhol
the song "andy warhol" by bauhaus is excellent

They're the sound of asphyxiation. One of the best bands around.

This was the only time I'm ever walked out of a cinema half way through a film. It was so tedious it made me angry.

A Thousand Threads 05.23.2008 09:19 AM

I've decided I love it. It makes me wish I'd been part of that Sunset Blvd scene. Almost as cool as mod London, maybe even cooler.

VH1 followed it up with one of those Classic Album docs, this time on The Doors, the s/t LP. Man, it made me fall in love with that album all over again. A perfect, perfect 60s rock album.

Sonic Youth 37 05.23.2008 10:45 PM

Pisses me off that I got to Pitchfork late and only saw the last 10-15 minutes of this.
