I once brought the wifey(betterthandeux) to a Xiu Xiu show where some weirdo folk bitches opened up, then Prurient came on, and she had to leave because she was getting sick to her stomach, she didn't believe me when I said Xiu Xiu was really coming on afterward, because she said no way would they have 'that awful fucking racket' open for them.

Prurient's said set was my performance of the year, though. Sickeningly good, literally.

I saw Prurient opening up for Xiu Xiu too. He had such a 'tude. It was especially noisy of him to perform with his back to the crowd.

Haha. He did the same when I saw him. His fucking noise grooves were on point as shit, though. Dude's got noise geek swag, yo. Totally dropped the contact mic, walked off stage, and then had some other fools tear down his equipment. Sound dude didn't look happy.

He was super friendly when I talked to him after the show. More friendly than Jamie Stewart was for that matter. Ches Smith was drumming for Xiu Xiu at that point and was by far the coolest musician I've met. Talked to us about his favorite porn, favorite regional foods, and burnt one one with us during the interview. Was fun.

So this is Disraeli Gears huh? One classic track and a bunch of goofy b-sides that all sort of blend together into a bland, not very strange brew (lol).... 1 whole point here is for Jack Bruce's awesome bass playing.

Spent most of the day setting up my new apartment and listening to Booba Barnes....until all of that was interrupted by me having to get ready/leave for work.

Coincidentally, considering all the PJ talk:

Repeatedly. Forgotten just how phenomenal and underrated this record is. I think you would really like this by the way NR. Not like any of her other stuff. Very low key and haunting.
