AN APPRECIATION OF THE GREAT LADY HERSELF. CAN WE KEEP THE CONVO ABOUT HER MUSIC THOUGH? I EMAN WE ALL KNOW SHES PRETTY, WE DONT NEED TO BE TOLD. SHE IS A VERY TALENTED WOMAN ALSO :)

Rob Instigator 09.15.2009 10:55 AM

why you screamin then?

I love when PJ kicks out the jams. I have all her 7" singles. I have all her albums. I still cannot get into the white chalk one, (is that the name? the latest one) it is meh. Maybe later I will dig. the same thing happened with Is This Desire?, which took me a few years to fucking LOVE.

I spin DRY and Rid Of Me all the fuking time.

and Stories from the city stories from the sea is a fabulous road trip album.

loubarret 09.15.2009 11:03 AM

Rid of me and Dry are one of the best peices of rockmusic ever. And yes, one of the little artist that made a nearly perfect(also problems with white calck) set of albums.

Missed is one of my favorites. one that's hits me pretty hard
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfH4qOFfaJQ

He should not be here
He's just too big
In a cloud please come down
I'd put stars at your feet
Put Mars at your head
Show yourself to me
And I'd believe
I'd moan and I'd weep
Fall silent at your speak
I'd burst in
Full to the brim

Mary lost her head
And let it bleed
Came crying back to me
My son, where's he been?
Don't deny it
And don't you hide him
No I've missed him

No words no sign
Mary say I'm not lying
How come he's so big
But good Lord he's been hid
Good Lord where're you hid
No I've missed him

Satan 09.15.2009 01:05 PM

i like rub til it bleeds, it hits so hard

Speak I'm listening
Baby I'm your sweet thing
Believe what I'm saying
God's truth I'm not lying
Lie steady
Rest your head on me
I'll smooth it nicely
Rub it better 'till it bleeds
And you'll believe me
Caught out again
I'm calling you weak
Getting it up
And I was joking
Sweet babe let me stroke it
Take I'm giving
God's truth I'm not lying
And you'll believe me
I'm calling you weak
And I'll make it better
And rub 'till it bleeds
I'll rub it until it

Rob Instigator 09.15.2009 01:08 PM

we were asked to refrain from the near-obligatory fap-fest over Polly Jean's bodaciousness.

There's a BBC music show called "Later...with Jools Holland" and every series has featured a set by PJ Harvey.

Rob Instigator 09.15.2009 01:35 PM

they show it on OVATION on comcast cable in USA

White chalk is my favorite album of hers by far. It's extremely cool.

Rob Instigator 09.16.2009 10:18 AM

it still bores me. it has not hooked me in yet,.

I will try it again and again every few months. eventually it will do the trick.

It's not the kind of album you should listen to when you want something hard or noisy, it's basically extremely sad folk music. You have to be in that kind of mood.

Rob Instigator 09.16.2009 11:34 AM

and that's the issue. The only time I am in the mood for soft sad folk music is when I am visiting the old folks convalescent home and it is naptime.
