Pantera

Fuck! I love this band. Each album from Cowboys to Trendkill are beautiful metal masterpieces. I exclude Reinventing the Steel because, well, I don't own it - I'll get onto that asap. I find these guys pretty flawless, from Anselmos vocals, obviously Dimebags guitar skills, and the double kick action, the kick drums are so punchy.

i had vulgar display of power at one time. i think it's their best. esp. the first song, that's quite the opener.

therealglenstyler 12.21.2007 06:26 AM

every single one a stone cold classic.

Torn Curtain 12.21.2007 10:08 AM

"Far beyond driven" by far.

batreleaser 12.21.2007 12:25 PM

southern trendill is my favorite, its the heaviest and most thrash like. i dont like their glam days, and im indifferent to cowboys from hell, i think VDOP is when they decided "lets be a heavy heavy fuckin metal band".

Glice 12.21.2007 12:36 PM

This band makes about four million times more sense than Metallica do to me. It's between the Great Southern Trendkill and Cowboys from Hell for me.

uhler 12.21.2007 01:37 PM

i meant far beyond driven not vulgar display of power.

atsonicpark 12.21.2007 01:53 PM

reinventing the steel is fucking terrible.

i like the pantera albums you don't have in your poll the best!

terminal pharmacy 12.21.2007 05:27 PM

vulgar display is great and the remix stuff is also awesome particularly by demons be driven

Everyneurotic 12.21.2007 05:30 PM

far beyond driven, it's just so dark and heavy and different from pretty much everything else.

i agree about the remixes, justin broadrick's retreatment of fucking hostile is almost better than the original.

Norma J 12.22.2007 12:23 AM

Dimebag was a definite shredder. No doubt.

h8kurdt 12.22.2007 06:06 AM

Dimebag=legend

I was torn between either Far Beyond Driven and Vulgar Display of Power. Put simply one of the few stupidly amazing metal bands out there.

anyhoo, yeah, cowboys is kinda ok compared to the three subsequent albums but it has some great songs in there: primal concrete sledge, domination, cementery gates, shattered.

afterthefact 12.22.2007 01:42 PM

God, there isn't a single Pantera song that I can find worth listening to. Of course, I haven't taken the time to really search through them, there may be something I'd like.

I can't agree if only for the solo he did on the Planet caravan cover.

flophousefloozie 12.23.2007 05:50 PM

I'm just not a fan. They're too quick for me, I suppose. I can't keep up. And I don't care much for the vocals. Although, he can belt.

Everyneurotic 12.23.2007 10:39 PM

the solo in i'm broken, how the hell did he do that?
