black flag is one of my favorite punk bands.

and yes. youre right to say that

jon boy 05.29.2006 11:11 AM

the cover is ace.

Mackle 05.29.2006 11:12 AM

Black Flag were much better after that hardcore punk era. My War and Slip It In are by far the best albums they released

Though I just got Damaged on Vinyl there on Saturday. Good shit

nomadicfollower 05.29.2006 11:13 AM

I gotta a six pack and nothin' to do.

I love it!

Pax Americana 05.29.2006 11:21 AM

My girlfriend asks me which one I like better.
I hope the answer won't upset her. SIX PACK!

That's my favorite line.

Black Flag is so terrible, you can't help but enjoy them. Rollins' attempts at being lyrically deep are priceless.

Greg Ginn wrote most of the lyrics.

Mackle 05.29.2006 05:27 PM

Yeh Ginn wrote most of the lyrics. The lyrics dont matter as much as the feel of the music anyway. Totally amazing.

johnnywinternoshow 05.29.2006 05:48 PM

I'm downloading a rollins spoken word dvd at the moment, can't wait to watch it, I love that eric the pilot anecdote

Pax Americana 05.29.2006 08:24 PM

Anybody else watch the new Henry Rollins show on IFC? I'm addicited to it. He hasn't gotten any less pissed off over the years and it's great! You can check out all the rants, interviews and musical guests here... http://henryrollins.ifc.com/?referer...fc.com%2Fhenry

My six favorite Black Flag songs
1.Drinking and Driving
2.Nervous Breakdown
3.TV Party
4.Rise Above
5.Fix Me
6.Six Pack

Drinking and Driving has some of the coolest guitar riffs ever.

Someone gave me a copy of My War and I was listening to it over the weekend. I'd only ever heard Damaged, and I like them for their sheer loudness, but had to laugh at some of the lyrics. I always assumed Rollins was the responsible party.

ASSumption aside, Mackle is right, the lyrics can be set aside I suppose. It's more of a volume-related indulgence.

krastian 05.30.2006 12:17 AM

^Check out The First Four Years....it's fucking great.

atari 2600 05.30.2006 12:24 AM

agreed

I like the nod to AbEx on the cover, but the Six Pack album isn't that hot to me
