yeah finding this pretty interesting, like around 2009 they were playing clubs and no one seemed to give a shit about them (incorrectly obviously) but their ‘hiatus’ seems to have come with some unspoken reappraisal? just ignoring how much shit critical consensus threw their way especially after mary hansen passed

They have certainly gained new fans and maybe some of the older folks don't realize that they actually weren't very good after dots and loops and that's being kind. Nostalgia is very powerful. I certainly remember seeing them in the early 90s and how incredible they were.
Definitely diminishing returns by the late 90s though, no matter how much I loved them.
still, they definitely made some of my favorite music ever but I don't think I'm going to see them now.
