the last album was ok, but far from their best stuff, i'm curious to see what the new one is like

atsonicpark 06.30.2008 11:34 PM

i've liked everything they've ever done personally though I don't listen to it much.

I'd love a mixture of said album and "Cobra and Phases Group Play Voltage in the Milky Night". Beautiful stuff.

The BBC Radio One Sessions compilation is very, very good too. I have been listening to that a lot recently.

ditto, especially disc 1

sarramkrop 07.01.2008 04:47 AM

The versions of 'Doubt', 'John Cage Bubblegum' and 'Super-Electric' are particularly good on that one.

Toilet & Bowels 07.01.2008 05:02 AM

yeah, doubt has been getting a lot of rewinds lately. peng 33 is another great track on there.

sarramkrop 07.01.2008 05:50 AM

Peng the album is a good one. Two tracks off it that I play a lot are 'K-Stars' and 'Super Falling Star'. It's not like any other album by Stereolab, in a way. It's not even their best. Laetitia Sadier makes a cool vocal appearance on The Hair and Skin Trading Co.'s song 'Go Round' on the album 'Over Valence'.

PAULYBEE2656 07.01.2008 05:51 AM

finest stereolab record..

possibly the album transient random noise bursts coupled with the jenny ondioline e.p.

atsonicpark 07.01.2008 05:54 AM

agreed.

PAULYBEE2656 07.01.2008 05:59 AM

i mean its got "crest" on it.. possibly the most fun you can have with one chord ever...

i saw them in 1995 with tortoise in dublin.. that was fucking special......

Everyneurotic 07.01.2008 11:05 AM

Fuck yeah, I bought that when it first came out.....goodness.

sarramkrop 07.02.2008 03:06 AM

I love this band because they made me discover so much other good music, like the ethiopiques compilations, for instance. They also gave Broadcast their first break, which is a fine thing in my book.

Talking of Broadcast, does anyone want the Peel Sessions? They do a mean version of 'Pendulum' on them. All of them are goodness, though.

Everyneurotic 07.02.2008 10:46 AM

i would accept it porky, i haven't listened to broadcast in a long time.

sarramkrop 07.02.2008 10:57 AM

Coolio. I'll up it then.

Everyneurotic 07.02.2008 11:03 AM

fuckin' a.

PAULYBEE2656 07.03.2008 12:33 PM
