That looks like a fine meal to me. Although I'll agree that anything explicitly labelled 'vegan' is a massive turn-off for me. I'm fine with anything that's vegan on the quiet though.

about 4 or 5 big potatoes
300 to 400g of sirloin
sour cream
red wine
brandy
dry herbs
black pepper (freshly ground)
salt
tabasco
worcestershire sauce
a small onion
two cloves of garlic
butter
olive oil
fresh salsa

of course not ALL the ingredients are essential.

for the potatoes:
you will peel them and slice them in big chunks, cook them in boiling water, drain the water. when the stroganoff recipe is almost ready, you will use two tablespoons of butter to slighly fry them with some fresh chopped salsa.

for the stroganoff:
you will chop the onions and garlic
slice the beef into strips
season with salt and pepper

heat some olive oil in a pot, add the garlic, then the onion
then add the strips and fry for a bit
just when they are not looking so raw you will pour a glass of red wine, one shot of brandy, and some worcesteshire sauce

put the lid on and let it cook for a bit, but remember to stir

put the temperature down

add dry herbs, more black pepper, even nutmeg if you like, some tabasco

REMEMBER TO STIR A BIT and thats really quick about, 5-8 mins
then you add 2-3 tablespoons of sour cream

the most common mistake people make is adding too much sour cream, making it soupy

it should be ready to serve with the potatoes now

and thats it

its good with red wine, or even beer

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to knox again.

Thank you, m'dear.

i think 100ml of sour cream is enough for 300g of beef.

but i dont like it too liquid or soupy.

and my version

Pookie 12.07.2009 06:58 PM

You'll need about 200ml for 300g of beef. But like I say, add it until you get the right consistency.

this is why people prefer my recipe.

it doesn't have much cream running on their potatoes
and it doesnt look orange

let him try both and decide for himself

Pookie 12.07.2009 07:02 PM

What the hell are you talking about? Cream running on potatoes? Orange?

Why do you put orange in stroganoff? Is it some kind of weird East European thing, like boiled pork?

knox 12.07.2009 07:04 PM

stroganoff is an eastern european dish i believe?

by definition you'd have to use a slow cooker, and cook it for hours so the meat disintegrates, so this adaptation is so liberal that it allows as much sour cream as you'd like.

some people don't even use it at all.

sometimes the juices from the meat and the wine mixed with sour cream make it look slightly orangy, which i avoid.

1 can of beans
handful of cheese
sour cream
tortilla
microwave

microwave can of beans for 1 minute 45 seconds.

microwave tortillas for about 10 seconds.

scoop beans onto tortilla.

sprinkle with cheese.

spoon on some sour cream.

fold ends of tortilla and roll it up.

enjoy!

EDIT: Doh!

As with all recipes, adhering to correct quantities of ingredients is essential. A spoonful of my semen will only offer 24 hours of intense happiness.
