Nevermind

VeeAtchOneKlassique just played "Classic Albums: Nevermind". Some guy named Thurston had some pithy input here and there.

Talk about yr reactions to music, I wholeheartedly and steadfastly ignored it. More pop trash--bunch a wannabees. I found a used copy (what was that person thinking?) and man, I just about wore that thing out.

great album. not their best. good songs... way too over produced for my taste.. but still, great album, great band.

deflinus 02.01.2009 08:36 PM

^ i agree. way overproduced.

but kurt's songwriting abilities just basically makes it a great record. that and nostaligic reasons

Toilet & Bowels 02.01.2009 08:46 PM

before that record came out i wouldn't even entertain the idea of listening to rock music.

I agree with this statement, if it wasn't for them I would probably still be listening to crappy rap.

Too over-hyped though.

sarramkrop 02.01.2009 08:58 PM

It deserved to be hyped that much though.

Yesterday I downloaded some MIDI files for all of the songs on Nevermind and In Utero. You should hear "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter" in MIDI.

thats fucking awesome. where can i hear it?

RanaldoNecro 02.01.2009 09:26 PM

It was the moment in which it came out that was important.

great band.... important album but not their best, in utero gets that prize..... anyone who says otherwise is just being cooler than thou indie....

DeadDiscoDildo 02.02.2009 03:45 AM

on a plain should have been recorded and put on in utero. Have it more raw, but with those same bad ass beatlesque harmonies!

Overall I think the collection of songs on nevermind are a bit stronger, but in utero has it's unique presence....and the production on In Utero wins hands down. That recorded sounds sick.

SuperCreep 02.02.2009 12:27 PM

good album. I could do without ever hearing any of it again, though.

Rob Instigator 02.02.2009 01:05 PM

when nevermind came out, it was one of those albums you could keep on flipping over and over, each side was great, and it rocked HARD.

Rob Instigator 02.02.2009 01:06 PM

and fuck in utero. BORING

greedrex 02.02.2009 02:26 PM

important LP.
great band.
good songs.
powerful.
i never thought the production was over the top.

al shabbray 02.02.2009 02:26 PM

^âgree but prefer in uteros production, maybe that would have changed a lot...erm nevermind

lechaoscestmoi 02.02.2009 06:32 PM

i've heard these songs so many times that the whole album is predictable, boring and dull to me.. haha i just can't stand it anymore.

acousticrock87 02.02.2009 06:45 PM

The "worst" of the three, for me, but still great if played in moderation. I mean I can't listen to Teen Spirit anymore, but it was good before it was murdered.

I still think Bleach kicks In Utero's ass. Hard. It's probably in my top 10 albums of all time.

I agree. I also wish Lithium had been heavier. Those are my favorite two songs off Nevermind, but they both have something missing.
