There's nothing by Sonic Youth that I don't enjoy.

same with me. don´t like the experimental jet set record THAT much. but it´s still amazing. sweet shine, winners blues and bull in the heather are my favourites on that one. i also like RR. such a good record. i just love turquoise boy, rats and incinerate. hmmm i´m pretty sure i go with the eternal as their worst record. today i tried it about 4 times - i guess i´m no longer interested in that record.

Screaming Skull and Androgynous Mind are also winners.

Hmmm I'm not the biggest fan of Rats or Turquoise Boy. Rats has that cool bass-drum interplay between Thurston and Steve that hearkens back to Making the Nature Scene, but otherwise it seems like a typical Lee song that doesn't stand out of the pack. Turquoise Boy is a nice mellow song, but nothing really puts it over the top- it sort of runs together with similarly slow and mellow songs like Or and Lights Out.

For me Rather Ripped's best tracks: Incinerate, Do You Believe in Rapture?, What a Waste, and Jams Run Free

hey... we´re friends again?

Dirty & RR

NYC Ghosts and Flowers because they wanted to be really different with it, and it was a total failure of that idea, and therefor the songs on the record aren't very good. I think it's just awful.

Second would be EJSTANS. Hate the record. Most of the songs make me cringe. To me it on that record it always sounds like they're trying to be Sebadoh or Pavement and it's just a mess of a record.

NYC Ghosts + Flowers is amazing. I think it's their last INSPIRED album.

i heard the phrase, "their new album sucks" all the time. i think it happens mostly with punk rock fans when the band's newest album isn't as fast or maybe it's better produced than their last one. usually the person who says this never even heard the album.

back to the question. i used to think it was dirty, but i recently listened to it (after six years) and i became quite the fan of it again. so it's rather ripped.

ATL by a mile. God i hated that album and i thought i'd never like the band again after it.

mysonichaircut 04.29.2009 05:30 PM

halloween is worst. definetely. i know for sure.

Toilet & Bowels 04.29.2009 05:33 PM

RR, NO DOUBT. It's about as good as a No Doubt record too.
People who don't like ExpJetSet, or NYCG+F need to have a word with themselves.

"Heathen" is also a terrible bad album.

canabero 04.29.2009 06:02 PM

Rather Ripped. No doubt

E, JS, T & NS.

why the Rather Ripped hate?

Death & the Maiden 04.30.2009 03:01 AM

I don't like Goo at all except for three songs. I never listen to Jet Set. The only track on Washing Machine that I like is the title track, and maybe one of the Lee tracks.

I agree. ATL is pretty poor, has a few good tracks but ultimately I find it a bit off.
