schizophrenicroom 05.01.2006 06:38 AM

that's pretty sweet, though. there's a teensy chance i can make it up to atlanta.

i think, there won´t be any europe-tourdates!!!

toxic johnny 05.01.2006 07:24 AM

There will be some European dates at the end of the year around the time of ATP... I reckon.

logcabinrecluse 05.01.2006 07:54 AM

all of this info is from billboard, right? any more info anyone finds on the cbgb show please let us know!

bucklebone 05.01.2006 08:18 AM

Slim pickings here in the battleground state of Ohio. At least we get one in Cleveland. Probably won't make that trip. Looks like another summer of not seeing the Youth live...unless I make it to Lollapalooza.

DaBuddaDa 05.01.2006 08:23 AM

Son of a bitch, no New England dates???

Alex's Trip 05.01.2006 08:23 AM

Sacramento?! Why aren't they coming down more without PJ?!

kingcoffee 05.01.2006 09:00 AM

I feel the same way, Fugazifan. I cant believe they havent announced any Massachusetts dates yet. I mean Thurston and Kim actually live here and they havent cemented any dates here yet? I hope they set up at least one show here. I cant imagine the band not stopping by here on their tour. Massachusetts has supported the indie scene for a very long time now, above all Sonic Youth.

kingcoffee 05.01.2006 09:02 AM

I really hope that if/when SY books a dte in MA, the Flaming Lips will come with. I've heard some rumors about the Lips possibly touring w/ SY and I really want that to happen here.

kingcoffee 05.01.2006 09:02 AM

For that not to happen would sorely dissapoint me.

thewall91 05.01.2006 09:24 AM

tickets on sale friday at 10 for the cbgbs show!

Peterpuff 05.01.2006 10:08 AM

Fuck Yeah!!!!

This is a blessing and a curse....I live in OK for 27+ years and have DREAMED about them coming to the Cain's!!! Be it my luck the year I move away they finally decide to play it!!! lol...I am only and Dallas though, and will surely be making the trek to see them at such a great historic venue! Whoever is responsible for this booking...THANK YOU with all my soul. This is seriously the show of a lifetime for me!

sonikjuice 05.01.2006 10:22 AM

I really wasn't expecting them to come to Florida... but it's shitty that they are playing in Atlanta on a Monday... if it were on the weekend I'd probably be able to make the drive up there. I also don't understand why they are playing in Kansas and Oklahoma but hardly any big cities.

AllHandsOnTheBigOne 05.01.2006 10:35 AM

Wait, so the only way I'll be able to see them live is if I pay the ungodly amount of money required to see a shit act like Pearl Jam live?

Fucking fuck fuckers.

Neongod 05.01.2006 10:39 AM

DC! Fuck yeah!

Pax Americana 05.01.2006 11:25 AM

Damn! Looks like I won't be seeing them this summer, unless they annouce some more dates. Oh well, there's always that Radiohead tour.

mikec 05.01.2006 11:31 AM

There's 3 supporting bands on the bill? Hmm. I know of Be Your Own Pet. Anybody heard of Awesome Color?

yeah, hopefully they'll visit toronto/montreal/ottawa near the end of the year.

threelobed 05.01.2006 12:32 PM

the asheville NC tickets are already on sale through the venue's website. FYI.

thethuthinnang 05.01.2006 12:46 PM

This is awesome to wake up to. Looks like I'll be moving to Colorado a month or so early. Sweet!

bucklebone 05.01.2006 01:39 PM

I've heard that they are staying out of Canada as a protest to Neil Young's latest release. As Thurston says "Neil's being way to harsh on the President. Why doesn't he just move back to Canada, eh??"

Kim was seen in the background nodding her head approvingly.

holy-reverb!! 05.01.2006 04:38 PM

oh wait.

"SY SUMMER SHOWS 2006- NEW DATES ANNOUNCED
Sonic Youth have announced a three week headlining tour of the USA which will get started up at CBGB's June 13." Maybe they announce US first and other counties later.

holy-reverb!! 05.01.2006 04:39 PM

Maybe after Chicage they will pop up to Canada. Oh god, third post in a row. Ill stop.

Richard Pryor on Fire 05.01.2006 04:51 PM

Why are they doing this skimp ass tour, this is fucking shitty, I'll have to go to fucking lollapalooza to see them, this is some bullshit. They just said fuck the midwest huh?

Everyneurotic 05.01.2006 04:56 PM

fuck the usa

samuel 05.01.2006 04:57 PM

9:30 Club! YES.

Alex's Trip 05.01.2006 05:18 PM

Man...I want more dates!

TheDom 05.01.2006 05:26 PM

Aug. 3: Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio (Blossom Music Center)

WHY THE FUCK CAN'T THAT BE IN JUNE?

IntoTheGroovey 05.01.2006 05:40 PM

Vancouver???

krastian 05.01.2006 05:45 PM

There will be a second leg of the tour, but yeah I'd be pissed if they weren't near me for this go around. Hop in the car and take off folks! Make a weekend out of it! Also, I'm guessing The Lips won't be playing with them on this leg???
