Em has always been insane from a technical POV.. i mean he's one of the rappers with the greatest mic presence. but he ran out of creativity a long time ago. just to think that the last time he managed to craft a really good album was in 2002..

he surely re-invented himself with Recovery, which was a smart & welcomed move imo, but the way he did it was the worst possible. he's lost everything that made him special just to appeal for a wider audience. that album seemed so lazy and generic to me. NO ONE i know liked it except some diehard Em fans who would take anything he puts out, even if it's garbage.

agreed. I thought Recovery was actually embarrassing at parts. Like it actually made me cringe. Wow.

On the flip, I'm kind of interested to hear the new Bad Meets Evil though.

Hell: the Sequel is disappointing imo. it's really no more than a bunch of songs Em rushed to write & put the whole thing out quickly.. subject-wise it's less pussy-ish than Recovery, but the corny-as-hell punchlines are still there, plus Lighters (with the Bruno Mars hook) is just as embarassing as the other song off Recovery.

i'll give him a last chance.

yikes. That sounds terrible. I figured that going back to BME would result in him y'know... trying to recapture his old style/sounds. Rough.

I feel like every album he's put out in the past decade has had me thinking "this is the last chance I give him." haha.

whoa, you will be surprised if you haven't heard it yet.
it basically made my day when it came out.. by far his most lyrical album, so positive & the production is truly amazing on some tracks.
