that is dead c playing live on some new zealand tv show, its really good, then they talk about the suicide s/t record with the host, its pretty cool.

Mrs. Butcher 03.14.2008 02:26 PM

harsh 70s reality, the white house, trapdoor fucking exit.

all amazing.

atsonicpark 03.14.2008 02:32 PM

I like trapdoor fucking exit the best, and that's also the name of a really cool band..

batreleaser 03.14.2008 04:30 PM

tusk is really good too. i think theyre so awesome, im surpised people dont gush about them on this board.

Savage Clone 03.14.2008 04:32 PM

People have gushed plenty about this band here over the years.
Personally, I like Harsh 70s Reality, but that's about it.

toxic johnny 03.14.2008 04:40 PM

I'm one of the chief gushers I think...

gush,gush,gush.

Future Artists was my No1 album of 2007.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 03.14.2008 06:18 PM

I like the one side project Gate. I like that performance on youtube, but the Dead C albums I've listened to aren't as awesome as that.

Everyneurotic 03.14.2008 06:25 PM

they are good, but sometimes i don't have the patience to listen to them, especially harsh 70's reality.

i recommend you track down some bootlegs, they are massive!

Death & the Maiden 03.14.2008 07:46 PM

I'd like to get a Dead C album. As for them being better than any other band from New Zealand, what about The Verlaines, The Gordons, The Clean? The Verlaines my favourite New Zealand band.

batreleaser 03.14.2008 07:51 PM

i like them better than all those other bands, but yeah, the gordons and the verlaines rock it too.

Everyneurotic 03.14.2008 07:57 PM

as far as kiwi bands, i think birchville cat motel is more mind blowing than the dead c.

ZEROpumpkins 03.14.2008 08:03 PM

There's so many great NZ bands and actors which are labelled "Ozzie" by us. We steal them and claim them as our own.

There are people at my school that thought Neil and Tim Finn were Australians. But no one ever tries to claim any of the Flying Nun bands as Australians.

ZEROpumpkins 03.14.2008 08:20 PM

I think it happens more to actors, but yeah definately in the case of the Finns. Evermore are called Australian a lot, not that it bothers me because I couldn't care less about them.

amazing band, like many people have said many times on this board.

I recorded them in london a couple of years ago. I just checked my badongo and the link still works if anyone's interested:

This link still works.

Love this band.

Though I think I like Gate a little more, actually..

the ikara cult 11.02.2009 08:49 AM

Vain, Erudite and Stupid is a great compilation for the uninitiated. Talk about the real world.

The Earl Of Slander 11.02.2009 11:11 AM

That double lp DR503 reissue from last year fucking blew my mind. Polio might just be one of the best esoteric/noisey rock tracks ever!
