'...this recording offers songs as flames of rainbow energy, where the power of love becomes our call.'

and the hippies all lived happily ever after, thrashing shamelessly in Thurstons' deep murk

Nice! thanks!

Hashish is incredible!! but... dosen't sound like 'Sunday' or are my ears?

I can't wait 'till september!!

mil_pl 06.22.2020 03:46 AM

I feel the opposite way, unfortunately -- to me HASHISH sounds like a demo not a final song, and a bit boring - like you have mentioned recalls Sunday and partially instrumental breakdowns of Smoke of Dreams or even Ceasefire

too bad that Thurston relies so much on his Sonic Youth and even previous song based LP legacy, nothing new

Screaming Skull 06.22.2020 01:38 PM

I agree, Thurston's written "Hashish" several time before. It's good, but we've heard it already.

Actually, I am, but the hippie shit is starting to really grate. And the bullcrap Radieux Radio entity is gonna be credited, isn't it. Oh brother...

_slavo_ 06.24.2020 05:23 AM

Hashish is really the same song as Sunday. I'm wondering what Thurston was thinking when putting this out.

Yeah, fingers crossed my ears need some fresh noisy stuff

mil_pl 07.02.2020 03:54 AM

...and the freaking cover

I miss Sonic Youth stuff, they would always go for something more exceptional - than a poor quality photo with bad typography approach (or at least they could easily make it iconic eg.: Washing Machine)

I dig Cantaloupe. straight up punk rock track with a nice guitar solo in the middle which sounds to me like something from 70ies
