lots of underground resistance tracks, some amazing stuff, wierd ass drum n bass, grimy hip hop, lovely. im getting into detroit techno big time, some of it sounds like pretty much having direct influence on current michigan noise stuff like sick llama (who i think is great by the way, as is fag tapes) with just these extreme uses of wierd electronic configrations and such.
oh, and i listened to the cows' "orphans tragedy" for the first time, its good. for some reason, i always end up comparing the cows to the brainbombs, and even though they have nothing to do with one another and the cows came out first, they just sound like a band trying to do what brainbombs do effortlessly. the ultra-dirge guitars with cacophonous horns and all that good stuff, anyways, the cows are good, but the brainbombs are phenomenal maybe i hear too much noise rock. |
Revisiting an old classic that I haven't listened to fully in 8 months. |
douche-y album cover aside, this album is pretty awesome so far. |

Currently I'm listening to (a downloaded) Smile:Live by Boris
It's has pretty good sound quality and some of the songs actually sound better in a live setting, but overall it's just another (after the two different studio album versions) unnecessary release with the same songs on it. |
That's an official release? Weird. As a bootleg I'd think it was cool, but like you said, 2 albums of SMILE is kind of enough.
|
Yes, it's official.
http://www.discogs.com/release/1544789 ...and for just $30 it's yours! http://www.inoxia-rec.com/shopdiw.htm (It's a "Japan exclusive" release now, but just wait until next year...) |
