Help with a few dvd's?

Okay, so I'm still on dialup, which means downloading a dvd from megaupload or whatever is not gonna happen. Would anyone be so kind as to copy me the following DVD's if I sent them blanks & postage?

I'm looking for:

1. Silver Rockets/Kool Things
2. Put Blood in The Music
3. Blood On The Beach

Thanks in advance?

nicfit 12.28.2007 09:14 AM

where are you from?

noisereductions 12.28.2007 09:16 AM

USA

stu666 12.28.2007 09:36 AM

it would be alot easier if someone in the usa could help you out but if not then i might be able to sort you out

noisereductions 12.28.2007 09:38 AM

appreciated.... though I'm sure it would be easier if someone from the US helped out, you're right... hello? US people? I'm looking at you?

By the way Stu, love yr avatar... I have that RAP DAMAGE video!

atari 2600 12.28.2007 09:45 AM

I'm in the U.S., but I have none of those on dvd-r; I have those three all on vcds.

noisereductions 12.28.2007 09:52 AM

Atari,

Does each film fit on a single VCD?

The VCD's are mpeg, right? They play in dvd players, right?

atari 2600 12.28.2007 10:32 AM

Yes, they play in dvd players that do vcds. They are on separate cds, but could probably be burned to a single dvd although I'd have to check. My copy of South Bank Show Put Blood in the Music only contains the Sonic Youth part.

I was having problems with my dvd burner during the time when I downloaded them.

I'd keep checking around to see if someone has them on dvd if you want the absolute best quality available.

This list needs to be updated:

The Sonic Youth and related list is on page 3:

noisereductions 12.28.2007 10:44 AM

Oh no, I meant that I wanted each on its own disc... so 3 seperate discs... but yeah, hopefully someone has each of these on DVD, because I would like complete, good quality discs.

Of course I suppose beggers can't be choosers, right?

nicfit 12.28.2007 10:49 AM

Put Blood in The Music exists on DVD with no doubts, but have the other 2 things ever been torrented in "proper" dvd quality too?
The "Blood On The Beach" copy I always see around the net is the "classic" 500+ MB mpeg, and about "Silver..." I've seen just a couple avi/mpeg versions, some dubbed in french, some in english with a bit different video quality too...kinda messy situation.

atari 2600 12.28.2007 10:54 AM

Yeah, I believe you're right. Although, I was having problems with my dvd burner for months one time. It seems I might've downloaded another Blood on the Beach and have it on dvd though. I'll have to search. I did good for a few years there, but I haven't been putting covers or cases on things and cataloguing them for far too long now...kinda messy situation.

SILVER ROCKETS must exist as DVD quality somewhere, since it was officially released as a DVD in Japan?

No matter... I'd gladly take VCD's as long as they were the complete video, and they weren't split up into multiple VCD's. Meaning PUT BLOOD would be the entire documentary, and it would fit on one disc.

atari 2600 12.28.2007 10:56 AM

Yeah, I don't have the Zorn part, just the SY/Paradiso part. I downloaded it from this board as far as I can remember.

Rather unrelated, but there's also a Laurie Anderson South Bank show doc. Have that one. Hmm, it's not on my list. I think it's on the "Clips" disc.

nicfit 12.28.2007 11:50 AM

ha ha I just checked a sec on hmv japan to see if they had "silver rockets..." and this came up searching for sy:
http://www.hmv.co.jp/product/detail/2522474

don't get your hopes high before clicking the link, eh!

noisereductions 12.28.2007 11:58 AM

yeah there's a show in japan whose title translates to SONIC YOUTH I believe. I've seen it pop up many times when searching for stuff on japan sites.

nicfit 12.28.2007 12:07 PM

Maybe we should mail the director Christoph Dreher, and ask if there's a commercially available release for Silver Rockets... or maybe now it's Arte (the french channel) that has the rights for that thing... mah! I'd buy it. Sorry, I'm not helping much in this thread and I'm too tired to think by myself.

noisereductions 12.28.2007 12:27 PM

I'd definitely buy a commercially released version. Just don't want to pay 50 bucks for a japanese import or whatever.

Sonic Youth 37 12.28.2007 08:40 PM

I'm in the US and I could help you out if you'd like. I've got the 500mb Blood on the Beach that I burn as a DVD, but the other two I'm unsure about. I also have the Silver Rockets/Kool Things as a 550 mb .avi file that I could burn as well. I don't have Put Blood....but I do have the South Bank Show as an .avi if you'd want it instead.

Edit: If you want these, I'd be glad to do a B&P, but I couldn't get it done until after the first of the year. I'd be mailing them around January 10.

There's a Silver Rockets.. DVD on Yahoo Japan Auctions right now. Seiler has set an opening bid of around $100 though!
