i'd go for the original..

although i can understand the bias toward new order's version - the lyrics resonate with bernie as he sings..

I only know New Order's version. It's better than most of their stuff.

New Order's original 7" version, not the re-recorded one that's on all their subsequent releases.

I can't believe New Order is beating Joy Division so severely. It's much more effective with Curtis' voice.

I would like to hear King Diamond cover it though.

I love the original, but I voted for the Xiu Xiu version because I just listened to it and it's awesome.

New Order's by a good distance. Not that any of the others aren't good (they are), but I find myself wanting to listen to New Order's the most.

I feel weird counting the JD one since it's never been recorded properly.

yeah if it was recorded as a single or whatever i would've probably voted for joy division. the recording that i have is horribly recorded.
