His insanity paid off though in some great paranoid tunes. Forever Changes is one of the best things insanity has ever brought us.

He was definitely "out there" (no pun intended), but still very much a genius. I always think back to this video of him to confirm so. That line about his influences has to be the most sincere thing I've ever heard a musician say.
