Rain rain go away

well well, back at work again. yesterday was crazy!
I woke up around 6:00am to the sound of a raging waterfall crashing into my roof. It was some heavy fucking rain. the only rain I can compare it to is the Allison rain.
I got up showered, and looked outside and saw the park across the street flooded, the ditches running at full levels, everything soaked, and the rain not stopping. I look in my library and I have about 2 inches of water in there. FUCK! I called work and proceeded to wet vac the water out of there for a couple of hours. I got that done and then set up fans to dry the room, and then I got hi and then I fell asleep exhausted.

fun times! then I got up around 3:40, got stizzy again and watched world cup

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 06.20.2006 09:25 AM

screamingskull 06.20.2006 09:40 AM

i love the rain, have you ever been swimming in a lake or the ocean when its raining, thats great!

Tokolosh 06.20.2006 09:49 AM

Yeah, till it starts to thunder and there's a chance you might get fried by lightning.

Hip Priest 06.20.2006 10:17 AM

It's been light rain all day here. I find it most refreshing.

Rob Instigator 06.20.2006 10:20 AM

12 inches of rain in two hours is NO GOOD! NO GOOD I TELLS YA!

Hip Priest 06.20.2006 10:22 AM

That's a lot. We never get the extremes of weather, just varying degrees of what's in between. I'd like to experience seriou weather though, as I'm a bit of a fan. All except hot weather, that is.

fishmonkey 06.20.2006 10:23 AM

i hate the rain. its raining in ireland today and it was real sunny all last week, its a pain in the balls

Hip Priest 06.20.2006 10:24 AM

I don't like the hot weather. Does my head in.

Oh to be in England.

At least we only have to suffer the hot weather for about 2 weeks a year.

Does MY head in indeed. Not too good for my sinuses either.

Exactly. Summer seems to have ended already here - we had it last week. So all is well.

jon boy 06.20.2006 11:00 AM

summer in england lasts about four hours. i do like the rain, but only in moderation. what really gets on my tits is when its neither raining or dry, just kinda drizzle which we get a lot of here.

berlin does not rain very much at all but when it does it really does.

I LOVE swimming when it's hot and when it's raining!

Phlegmscope 06.20.2006 12:41 PM

I wish some rain already. It's been about 79°F today here, or 26 °C.

!@#$%! 06.20.2006 12:42 PM

you unfeeling fucks

don't you see cheeto's books were in danger? and here you go on writing about your own ass cavities...

Rob Instigator 06.20.2006 01:26 PM

jesus fuck I have so many books. the books are fine, I managed to put the expensive books, the art books and such, up (those are the heaviest and sit on the bottom of my bookshelves), but my 10 or so 7 foot tall bookshelves are gonna have water damage on the bottom, which hopefully will not make them worthless. fuck I love books.

I hate flooding. there is nothing one can do but get that wet-vac out. it is horrible.

I was lcky though. people just a mile from me had 2 feet of water in their house. I live next to Hobby Airport and the entire surrounding area was so heavily flooded noone could get into the airport or out of it from around 5:00am to noon. the people working night shift had to work an extra 8 hours with half the terminals out of power.

finding nobody 06.20.2006 01:44 PM

i had a similar expireince with our hot water heater fucking up and sptting out water. nothin got damaged though. glad to hear nothin of yours got messed up to bad
