I seriously don't like Tortoise, they make me ill

porkmarras 08.27.2006 06:01 AM

atari,as usual, misses the point.Anyway,i'm referring to that particular song and not to the entire output of Tortoise.I don't have much time for a few of their records.

how do you know how I came to write my statements?

It seems that it is you that is making the assumptions.

But you work for some cheap fanzine, don't you?The local paper, perhaps?

Yoko Ono and John Lennon should have kept the silence for longer.

rather than bitching, i'd like to recommend a band called dilute. i would say they are pretty fucking amazing, whether you like tortoise or not. here are some helpful links if you desire . . .

I saw them several times in their earlier days and they were great live, but I have to say that as time wore on they became more and more sterile-sounding, and have by this point become the musical equivalent of throwing a salted bagel to a man who has just crossed the Sahara on foot.
"Millions Now Living" was the last thing I bought from them, and I haven't listened to any of their LPs in years. I sold off "Rhythms Resolutions and Clusters" years ago for a healthy sum and don't regret it a bit.
I think I would still like their first LP, and I still like the "Gamera" EP, but the rest of their output...meh.

Non-plussed. Notably, however, this thread is preposterous, and I suspect my addled mind may have invented it.

I love tortoise from millions now living through standards. three beautiful records. no desire to hear anything other than those.
Atari, I'm sorry but I think that they have been on a few soundtracks (as if that were the summit of all musical possibilities) and certainly john mcintire has scored whole films, much like ry cooder.
did anyone else read that thing about eminem being a good buddhist?
