I'll make exceptions for non-secular, non-'pop' Christmas songs, as these are amazing. As soon as I have a tape>mp3 thingy I'll up some of the religious services of the Isle of Harris. Similar, but not that similar, but definitely amazing, and in Scotch Gaelic as well. Have you heard Missa Luba? You should download that now-ish, it's amazing.

there are countless parallels between the monastery driven, non-urban pre-medieval Christianity of both Ireland and Ethiopia. I would expect their music to have similar agreements in style and taste, both are the preservation of original Christian worship and theology.

In regards to the Ethiopian mezmuroch (religious music), my youth group at the Ethiopian church are going to perform these songs for the Timket (Feast of the Epiphany) celebration for a crowd of over 6,000! thats one hell of a gig!

Holycore when I'm opening my presents, followed by some Christ-fi after dinner.

Glice 12.13.2008 09:32 AM

Christmas day is more new wave of British urban deontological Quaker-fi (nwobudqf) for me.
