Yeah I’m really liking it

I assumed they were done as a studio band, especially after putting out a couple of archival releases to gather up all the loose ends. Putting out a record of new stuff, and one that isn't their worst record, is astounding.

Some musicians record music inside a studio literally until they are about to die. That's what some musicians do. It's a miracle, I know.

Has any of you heard the new Preoccupations? It's really great, probably their best album since Viet Cong era.

I have not, but I kinda gave up on them a few years ago. I’ll give it a spin.

I discovered a new (to me) band on bandcamp. Like them a lot, from what I heard so far.


Hypnodrone Ensemble



It's two guitarists and three drummers playing drony instrumental post/space/kraut/psych-rock, on some albums there may be other people playing.
The guitarists you might know already, one is the guy that names himself Thisquitarmy, the other is Aidan Baker.
Many of their albums are digitally for sale on bandcamp as Name Your Price, if not on their own site then on another mirror label.

Hjirok by HJirok




HJirok is a collaboration of Iranian-born Kurdish singer and artist Hani Mojtahedy with versatile music producer Andi Toma of Mouse on Mars.


Her voice reminds me of Catherine Ringer of Les Rita Mitsouko. Quite intriguing.
I might go see them next month, they play a concert with The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra

I just tried to listen to the new Caroline album, titled Caroline 2.
didn't like it very much. ugh, it's post-rock, but recorded in a very annoying way.
