Murray Street eviction, what?
 

I was just checking out Rather Ripped lyric sheets arragnged by Thurston, and on the back page there's the pic of the couch date-stamped Mar. 31, 2006, and a caption saying something about it being the last shot fo the Murray Street studio before eviction (and relocation to Hoboken).

What's the story? Is there a link with all the background info someone can point me at.

The building that housed the Murray Street studio as well as various other practice spaces and whatnot was purchased by a new owner who must have had better ideas for the building. They were promptly evicted.

I thought there were laws against doing that sort of thing.

I have no idea.
