I wanted to leave LA (my hometown) for years but in that same time ive built so many connections and relationships while making myself at home at every nook and cranny that i jist cant see myself leaving. Its not just cuz i grew up here, i actually have gotten around town sso much more as an adult and become integrated so much in the community that i MADE LA my home the way you would when you move to a new city

In other unrelated and even trashier news: Teenage girl reportedly abducted but she's probably just out joyriding with her punk-ass boyfriend(s)

Dig the trashy photos of this girl on her mom's Help Find My Baby facebook page.

that's so sad

i'd be more than happy if i only ever returned to daytona to see my family/friends. i need more stimulation than it can provide.

gmku 06.13.2015 07:01 PM

In many ways. I see a lot of this around here. Rural kids trying to be urban hip. Guys getting into quick money making gigs, like drug dealing, buying flashy material things, never going to school. A kind of nouveau trash class.

yeah, a lot of that here. a few friends moved back for decent jobs, but all health/nursing type stuff.

gmku 06.13.2015 07:38 PM

Ha ha! I almost missed that one. You are quite subtle in your critiques. Drug dealing : health care industry. I get it. Nice jab.

one's a radiology assistant with a killer weed business, not really sure why he even has a full time gig but i appreciate his hustle.

had no appetite for three-four days, waking up with a stomach that feels like it's swimming but no real push to eat is killing me

gmku 06.14.2015 01:24 PM

Is weed legal yet in California?

schizophrenicroom 06.14.2015 02:23 PM

i'm not sure. i know there are medical cards.

I'm just in from doing some yard work and straightening up before the hellacious rains start later today......right now it's all breezy and smells like the beach outside.

i'm not a beach-goer but i love that smell. i love the smell of salt hanging in the air. it's relaxing.

really neither here nor there, but i finally- finally- am trying out a small dose of ritalin daily, just in the morning about an hour after i eat, and holy shit... this is what being a normal fucking person feels like. sat down, made my daily to do list, did it, etc. not hearing that stupid nagging self-doubter in my head. fuck, man.

gmku 06.15.2015 11:45 AM

Oh, yeah, the self-doubter is the worst. I hear it, not all the time, but a lot, myself. Where does that voice come from? Oddly enough, in my old age, I think it comes from feeling inferior, professionally, compared to some of the people I work with, who are both younger, and thereby "hipper" to the new things in communications, and also more confident because they work with a team (I am a one-man team in my office).

I wish you luck with the ritalin.

gmku 06.15.2015 11:46 AM

Question: Would you get this reference, if a coworker stepped into your office from the rain outside? "Wet out there tonight... . Wet out there tonight!"

schizophrenicroom 06.15.2015 11:48 AM

glengarry glen ross? i didn't google

thanks!

i hate working in a team- i'd rather do stuff alone. i'm not good at delegating things either. not a "i'm better", just i would rather know that everything is done and done right because i've gone over it. and i can empathize- but there's nothing they know that it's not too late to pick up on or be able to approach in a way that having the wisdom of age comes with. (not calling you old, haha.)

gmku 06.15.2015 11:57 AM

Same here. But, in our office situation, it sets me up for some bad things. I can't produce the kinds of things my colleagues can, in the office we're partners with, because I have to do it all--they specialize. For example, they have writers and editors, people who write the stories and others who dream up the story ideas, assign, edit, etc. I have to do both. In a way, it's easier, but in a way, I feel like it's tougher because I have to do more, I have to worry about it all, whereas my partners only have to worry about their small part of the puzzle. So, they can go, "Look at everything our office produced. What did you do?", and I feel, well, inferior, because my output isn't as big or interesting.

ha ha ha-- nobody is normal! only statistics. don't compare yourself to myths.
