The Beatles VS Sonic Youth

Who's had the most positive influence on humanity?Nobody is going to resolve the world's problem with this poll, but what's your take on it?Cheap humour need no apply.

Inhuman 03.01.2007 02:08 PM

Sonic Youth for sure. Next we should compare N.W.A with Throbbing Gristle!

Thanks for the rep btw porkmarras

The Beatles and Sonic Youth are complete equals to me, but I chose sonic youth because they are my ultra fave

Glice 03.01.2007 02:28 PM

Sonic Youth are infinitely more marginal, therefore their influence is closer to being benign. The only band to have only a positive influence on the world is the Shaggs.

Glice 03.01.2007 02:40 PM

I don't mind Gwen's latest stuff. That wind it up single was amaaazin', the weirdest bit of proper pop I've heard in years.

Tokolosh 03.01.2007 02:48 PM

Sonic Youth, because they've lasted longer.

Edit: Also, Kim isn't Yoko, if you know what I mean.

nature scene 03.01.2007 02:52 PM

beatles. that's it.

remember the question was about influence on humanity, not indie kids.

Agreed. I'm not going to say some used idea like "if there were no beatles, there'd be no sonic youth", but we're talking about influence on humanity. Humanity doesn't know the half of sonic youth yet.

By the way those nipples give a knew meaning to "tragic kingdom".
(that's the best I could do. What I really mean is they're the most discusting I've seen in a while).

thewall91 03.01.2007 10:53 PM

beatles. both are great bands, but everyone from five-year-olds to 80-year-olds can enjoy the beatles. not so with sonic youth.

Miss Pornstar 03.02.2007 05:04 AM

Sonic Youth. Enjoyed 'em at 5, will enjoy them at 80.

demonrail666 03.02.2007 06:08 AM

The Beatles, obviously. Sonic Youth have been influenced by them. The Beatles weren't influenced by SY though.
